stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 OK, I'm starting to believe the Colabello has a chance. Jason Bartlett says thank you very much.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 How much did we pay the Cleveland pitcher to take Bartlett out of the game?Addition by subtraction?
lyndon Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 nine runs. not bad. Using advanced sabermetrics I predict we should need 18.76 runs today for the win. If Bartlett has to be pulled for a wrist injury that number significantly decreases to 14.83 runs.
Guest Guests Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 If Colabello keeps this up, his movie rights are going to be worth more than his salary.

70charger Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 What if the lineup of Florimons were to hit against PJ Walters with an outfield of Bartletts and an infield of Nishiokas?

lyndon Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 HA! The Homer Simpson approach! Well done Jason! Yes! I remember that!
Physics Guy Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Pretty hard to not root for Colabello. With our OF's going down like flies, he probably DH's for the near future.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 What was Antony's quote? Something like, "why is everyone so concerned about the 25th man on the roster"?While Bartlett's fielding and hitting is an embarrassment for both Bartlett and the team, this is just 1 of 162, and the Twins could still win in spite of terrible LF play.
lyndon Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Come on. That's not fair to those kids.

Put Arcia on the DL. We know he isn't playing for at least a few days and if Willingham is day-to-day we can't afford to not have another OF.
BigTrane Provisional Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 9 runs?Wow, Twins put some crooked numbers up. Original concern was pitching, then offense. Wha happoned?

And they could still lose because of it… what's your point?
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Pretty hard to not root for Colabello. With our OF's going down like flies, he probably DH's for the near future.Regardless of the outfield situation, he's earned it. He's bound to regress, but he's been the best hitter as a DH on the teams, and he's fielded first base pretty well too.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Best part of the Cola hit: he finally pulled it (to left-center, at least).

Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 If we were told at the beginning of spring training that we'd open the season with Kubel and Bartlett on our 25 man, and after 2 series ONE of them would look like they did in their prime, we'd mostly be OK with that. But now that we've figured out which one it is, time to let the other go.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I'm hoping that Herrmann is either in transit or that they've got him ready to be called up at any second. Please.
