Need a roster spot? Why not Arcia?
Twins Video
Oswaldo Aria is one of my favorite Twins. When he came back up from his wrist injury, he brought energy, enthusiasm, and attitude along with his power stroke. Sadly, he has regressed big time in the month of June.
In his last 10 games, here is his line, and it's not pretty:
2-32(.063) with 17 K's, with 0 runs scored and 0 RBI's. On the positive side, he does have one double and one walk. His defensive play borders on little- league material.
I believe it was in the Brewer series (I could be wrong) that Roy Smalley exposed the hole in his swing. If he could spot it, I'm sure the advance scouts could too. It appears his answer is to swing hard in case he hits it. How has that been working for you, Ozzie?
Don't know what Bruno's advise has been, but I do know he has taken Mauer's lifetime average of .320, and turned him into a .250 hitter (I know, that's not fair).
Maybe the Twins need to hire a young, Latin coach who could speak to them in a language they understand. The present situation doesn't seem to be working.
