Oakland and Seattle in March.  At least someone was thinking.

Starting the season by getting all the late, west coast games out of the way. Also, Twins will be done with Oakland 3 series into the season, which doesn't matter but is interesting.

A trip to LA the end of April could result in seeing both the Dodgers and Angels. That would be a fun time!

Let's hope Oakland is cold out of the shoot like this season.

Didn’t they always used to open on the West Coast?

In 2018 the Twins started off on the East Coast (Baltimore and Pittsburgh)

In 2017 the Twins first 6 series were all against AL Central teams

In 2016 the Twins started off in Baltimore and KC (lost their first 9 games that season)

In 2015 the Twins first 5 series were against AL Central teams

The Twins were formerly part of the AL West division (1994 was their first year in the Central), so perhaps that is what you are referring to. The most recent occurrence of the Twins starting the season on the West Coast was in 2010 against the Angels.

I'd imagine that most of those games will be day games as well. Which is nice.

I'd venture to guess that 2-3 of those first 6 will be day games. I hate those late night west coast games as well. Sometimes wish I lived in the Mountain Time Zone

I think you are right about earlier start times.

I failed to mention in my initial post that the Twins head west to face both LAD and LAA, and then to Arizona, and then to SD throughout the year, but getting the big chunk of West Coast games out of the way early is nice.

Last fall I was in Arizona the weekend of the Vikings-Packers game that ended in a tie (barf). Kick off was at 10 am, which was awesome! Game done by 1, had the rest of the afternoon to play in the pool with my daughter. Living in mountain time or west coast time would be awesome from a sports perspective.
