  1. Dagger time? I figure if I make enough calls, eventually one will stick.
  2. Bremer is turning into Harry Carray. Maybe it's his eyes as he ages.
  3. Polanco is going to hook another one into the corner.
  4. Meyer is on the ropes. Can Rosario deliver the knockout?
  5. So, it sounds like Adrianza is coming off the DL tomorrow. For whom remains to be seen. I suppose if the Twins don't burn through the pen tonight, it could be a pitcher. Hildenberger would seem to be the most likely candidate, though hardly deserving.
  6. Yet again an inning with way too many pitches for Mejia.
  7. I'm sure there was one before under similar circumstances - make up double header. I remember in the aftermath of the Rodney King verdict riots, the Giants and Dodgers cancelled an entire series forcing them to play 3 consecutive double headers. Tom Candiotti was with the Dodgers at the time and the knuckleballer reportedly volunteered to pitch two games on one of the days. As I recall, he actually ended up pitching the game before and the game after.
  8. In the ancient days the "all stars" were the same guys year after year no matter who actually was performing.
  9. Doubt too many people would be interested in an injured Adrianza. Probably get better return for Escobar. It would also relieve Molitor of the temptation to believe that Escobar is a starter. I don't think it is a coincidence that Polanco started to slump offensively and defensively when Escobar started playing more. Polanco needs to play everyday IMO.
  10. http://www.vectorportal.com/img_novi/redcross_1649.jpg Lachlan Wells dodged the raindrops last Wednesday (June 29) and picked up his fourth win of the year. He allowed just one run on four hits over five innings, walking one, striking out four. Unfortunately, he has landed on the disabled list, although I suspect it is more a way to hit the pause button. He has already passed his IP total from last year. I speculate that he will be shut down for good at about 100 IP. The 4th inning was the only inning that gave him trouble. He allowed a one out homer to Cornelius Randolph (first round pick, 2015) and then a double to Cord Sandberg (3rd round, 2013). He also hit a batter, but escaped the inning with a strikeout and a groundout. Lachlan Wells improves to 4-9, 4.11. As is often the case, teams tend to be tight lipped about minor league injuries unless someone with proper credentials asks. So, there is precious little info available at this time.
  11. Regarding the map, y'all realize that you can vote from outside the United States, right?
  12. I see Lachlan Wells hit the DL. Is there actually an injury, or are they just hitting the pause button on his innings?
  13. More information out there. That internet voters are conscience of. That's another reason why internet voting is best. Casual fans at the games are mostly uneducated about the game and the players other than perhaps those on their own team. I know "back in the day" literally all I had available were numbers that were published in the paper every Sunday. That's why it was essentially a popularity contest back then. There was no quick or easy (to say nothing of free) way to get detailed information about players.
  14. What does Santiago even mean by saying he doesn't like shifts? He doesn't position the players. He just needs to hit his spot on the called pitch and chances are the hitter will hit it into the shift. After all, the shift is based on the pitching game plan.
  15. Until you couple it with a 4-7 homestand that immediately preceded it.
  16. This isn't a video game or a fantasy baseball league. In the real world, contract status matters. If you are suggesting that the Twins simply eat the $30 mil or so that is still owed to Phil Hughes, dream on. It isn't going to happen. That might be something the owner of the Yankees would okay. The owner of the Twins? Not a chance.
  17. That would result in all stars being almost directly linked to attendance of games played solely within the month of June. If you are complaining about Ramirez starting over Sano, you need to check the numbers. It's close. Coin flip IMO.
  18. Pino isn't taking anybody's spot. He's a company man. He'll pitch in whatever role is needed. Organizations need guys like him.
  19. Depends on who they used. Just a hunch it wasn't Miller or Allen.
  20. Somehow the post I was quoting changed while I was typing my reply. Wasn't trying to rub your nose in it. Honest mistake.
  21. That page is showing inherited runners STRANDED.
