  1. So, how likely is it that the Twins can actually fly out of MSP sometime Sunday? The Sox too for that matter. Where do they head next?
  2. Tell him to change his flight to Puerto Rico.
  3. Then why send LaMarre down in the first place? Anyone who has seen a weather forecast this week should have hada pretty good idea that Friday and Saturday were going to be postponed. Sunday is far from guaranteed as well.
  4. So, one game Sunday, off day, two games in Puerto Rico and then another day off. 13 pitchers are needed? Really? Really????
  5. Already basically not using two pitchers. Let’s bring up another! Brilliant!! I’m sorry, but this is poor roster management. Falvine: this statement is directed at you.
  6. So, it would be about the same as old Yankee Stadium.
  7. Actually, his initials are PPD.
  8. Nothing you can say is going to convince me that managers don’t think about the implications for the rest of the game when they make a move.
  9. Duke is looking like a more expensive version of Craig Breslow. Rodney looking like a more expensive version of Matt Belisle. If Rodney turns it around like Belisle did, I’ll be happy. However, not sure I want to suffer 3 months of horrendous pitching like Belisle gave the Twins last year.
  10. As I said elsewhere, you really don’t know if he’s the next Pat Neshek or the next Mike Nakamura. He’s earned some more rope based on last year, but his role needs to be swapped with Pressly getting higher leverage for now. Definitely skating on thin ice as far as remaining on the roster. Note: it really wouldn’t be a question of him staying rostered if Moya and Kinley were not on the roster. Hildenberger can provide length. He may be suited to mop up duty for now.
  11. Wow. Pretty sure zero managers think that way. Nor should they in a regular season game.
  12. What happens if Hildenberger struggles in that spot and hou have already used Reed? Still simple?
  13. Which should make it abundantly clear that Molitor didn’t WANT to use him THAT EARLY. Don’t blame the manager when the tools he has been given fail.
  14. He’s already pitched WAY too much this year. It isn’t Paul Molitor’s fault that no one else is capable of getting outs. Keep using Reed 2 innings every other day and see how long it takes for his arm to fall off.
  15. The problem still remains. This is Reed’s 6th appearance. This is the Twins 10th game. That can’t be maintained.
  16. Still wondering what he brings to the table that Ryan O’Rourke did not.
  17. If the Twins go through the 2018 season with only one reliable reliever, they won’t have to worry about contending.
  18. Bold prediction: this game will not end well for the hometown 9.
  19. Unfortunately, it appears that Reed is the ONLY reliable arm out there. Pressly has done well, but after last year’s debacle, I’d be wary of trusting him in critical situations.
  20. So, to those that believe Reed should have entered the game in the 6th: Are you further suggesting that it would have been just fine to leave him in through the 8th? If not, what’s the alternative? If you have an alternative, I would argue that pitcher should be pitching in the 6th. You can’t burn Reed out in the first two weeks of the season unless you are prepared to be without him.
  21. The hitters that bat in the 6th are guaranteed another at bat. So, Correa was going to hit again. Point being I don’t consider the start of the 6th inning the most critical situation in last night’s game.
  22. You’re not going to bring Reed into the 6th inning. That’s silly. A gimmick pitcher like Hildenberger is always a gamble. Is he the next Pat Neshek or the next Mike Nakamura? You never know until he gets a chance. Given how well he dominated last year I would say he’s earned a little more rope. If he doesn’t turn it arround in 2-3 weeks, I would say it is time to try someone else. The bigger issue is Moya and Kinley. Molitor clearly has no intention of using either in a competitive game. Someone is going to have to go down to make room for Friday’s starter. If Falvine continues to hold on to Kinley, it will have to be Hildenberger or Moya.
  23. I’m trying to come up with a scenario where it makes sense to bring in Rogers to face Correa.
