  1. Lynn isn’t really fooling the Royal hitters.
  2. Morrison and Cave should be flipped in this order.
  3. If you are going to swing and miss, at least do so hard enough to create a breeze. It’s a tad warm.
  4. Reporting live with the yarnivek clan in section 304, securely in the shade.
  5. Reed to DL with what they are calling “triceps tightness”.
  6. He’s probably a better bet as a long man than Belisle.
  7. That might be a valid point if this team was in contention and winning games was the goal unto itself. However, the priority seems to have shifted (or at least it should) to evaluation and development. In that instance, I might be more inclined to give a pitcher I want to evaluate a catcher he feels more comfortable with at the expense of developing someone who pretty much every baseball mind has said is a career backup.
  8. Good read. It suggests that a Latin draft is likely not too far away. https://www.yahoo.com/newsroom/vibes/latin-america-news/v-05ae9487-19b4-3fea-821f-924171900ac4_c-57e7c186-cf3f-320b-8369-954e25e12944_a-57e7c186-cf3f-320b-8369-954e25e12944?soc_src=newsroom&soc_trk=com.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard&.tsrc=newsroom
  9. Maybe before assuming Cave can’t hit LHP, thd MOY should let him try. He currently is 3 for 10 with a double and HR vs LHP. He also has hit LHP just fine in AAA this year.
  10. I figure Belisle is done. Almost 30 pitches. Reed and Duke most likely for the 8th and 9th.
  11. I think it is pretty likely the Indians resign or QO Cody Allen. He’s one of the only good relievers they have. And Miller is a FA.
  12. Basically, the Twins need to do a better job evaluating the players they have. Something this FO has been frustratingly reluctant to do.
  13. I’d make a Circle me Dick sign, but that might get misinterpreted. Maybe, I could put “Richard”. Dick Bremer’s wife actually was one of my babysitters a long, looooooong time ago in a galaxy known as Sauk Rapids.
  14. Just an fyi, mr and mrs yarnivek will be at wednesday’s game with our newly placed (about 6 weeks ago) foster daughter and my mother. We’ll be on first base side somewhere.
  15. Which reminded me of the Twins trading away Matt Lawton for Rick Reed in 2001. The Twins never win the division without Reed in 2002, true enough. But they were very much in the hunt in 2001 and they traded away their most consistent and most experienced offensive player. Like you said, MOST contenders don’t do it that way. That’s why it’s the Twins Way.
  16. Yeah, it kinda does. If the plan is to bring up youngsters, especially pitchers, you might want to have some guys in the infield that can actually, you know, field a position. If Dozier and Escobar are both traded, it likely means Austudillo playing everyday at 3b and Adrianza at 2b with Motter as the back up. Who are we kidding? MOY will likely start Motter over Austudillo. The Twins lack the personnel to replace two infielders. Trading pieces without a replacement is how the Twins were forced to bring up Hicks when he wasn’t ready and Buxton when he wasn’t ready.
  17. Buxton’s biggest flaw has been pitch recognition from day one. If it wasn’t addressed prior to his reaching the majors, that’s a total system failure, not one guy. And, the one guy who was responsible for the system that was in place was fired.
  18. I know Davis is having a bad year, but you still need to not serve it up right down the pipe.
  19. The Orioles are bad. Just in case you weren’t certain.
  20. You mean $40 mil per year, right? It will be closer to that than $10 mil per.
  21. I’m not sure any of those were strikes either. Maybe the second one.
  22. 10 in a row. Way to finish strong. The guy is worthless after 80 pitches. That seriously needs to be his cut off.
