  1. I agree with all this except I'm not sure I do about the Gray and Petty trade . Yes I would have preferred they signed his equivalent in free agency, but that guy wouldn't have such a short, team friendly deal. If they can get 300 innings of a good later career Gray the next two years, then it makes sense. By the time we possibly see Petty in the bigs I'm guessing the FO is banking on the pipeline.
  2. Your know I watched all of Ryan's Olympic starts and all the twins starts as well. I liked him very much but wasn't sure how the fastball heavy approach would fly. Well this guy not only has moxy, but command and the ability to evolve. Very exciting. Compare this to Berrios' first year.
  3. Spring has sprung on H2oface and Mrlink45! Go twins!
  4. Now that was a good ballgame, watched on a plane coming back from Florida. Crisp, started a half hour after takeoff and finished while taxiing to the gate. More please.
  5. The scuttlebutt is that the Padres aren't great at developing pitching and Paddack might just be a sleeper.
  6. C'mon now the last thing we should do is question Correa's motivation. He has 300+ million reasons to succeed.
  7. Thank you. This is exactly what I thought. Paddack was great every hit was either a squib or the really nice, and now quite rare, perfectly placed bunt.
  8. There are some arms in the Saint's bullpen. Let's move quick the big league pen is doing us no favors. Overall you gotta like the pitching SWR, Raya, Hajjar, c'mon now we aren't even talking about Canterino, Varland and Enlow yet. And yet there are more.
  9. Pagan might sneak up on some American Leaguer's.
  10. I really like watching Joe Ryan and Jhoan Duran pitch.
  11. Taylor Rogers went on a really good run in 2017-21 for the Twins peaking in 2019 with 30 saves in 36 opportunities. That season I guess you could call him our closer, those totals would indicate so. For me I prefer fireman. He was used high leverage with the preference to exploit matchups. This was his best role. This lead to his top notch WPA over those years. Most pitchers suffer a drop in performance used in consecutive days and I think Rogers was particularly prone to this. A traditional closer needs to go back to back matchups be damned. That is not the best way to use Rogers imo and it surprises me that even Gleeman refers to him as former Twins closer Taylor Rogers.
  12. I agree, but with 16 innings pitched last year they are checking all my boxes on how to handle him. Use him in the bullpen this year to limit innings. Use him right away to not waste any of those super ballistic bullets. Most importantly, don't lock yourself into thinking of him as a reliever only. This last point is my hope but we have no way of knowing what their plans are. Of course they might not either. It is not his arsenal that would hold Duran back from a starter role, only stamina/durability. It will be fun to see how he responds.
  13. People have been saying that since spring training, so yes you missed more than one. You blew it big time.
  14. Yes Moran looks like he needs to calm down, I was thinking the same thing this morning watching him pitch in yesterday's game.
  15. You may be right, I though Martin was much younger, but he is actually a little older. I'm not sure it really matters where he starts, but I see your point.
  16. He didn't dominate AA. First half in AA would be my choice then move him up. It was a rush job to have him start his pro career in AA in the first place.
  17. Not to mention Gibby's first season in Texas was a train wreck. He may finally have nibbled his way to some success!
  18. Why do we not see Larnach's foot injury even mentioned? Just watching Polanco's career should impart the necessity of having a good set of wheels under you. I wouldn't be surprised to see Larnach break camp with the team. Cave we hardly knew ya?
  19. I agree with all this. Larnach's struggles have given Rooker another shot and I think that is ok. He has the righty bat that is needed and while many doubt his future many will react if he produces elsewhere. The Twins have a fair amount invested here
  20. Direct Stream just informed me my one year promotional rate is over. As a now loyal customer, I will get rewarded with higher pricing! Standard corporate customer appreciation strategy. Profitable and reviled huzzah huzzah!
  21. Apparently Gray asked for a different catcher.
