  1. I was in the rightfield bleachers.
  2. A class guy
  3. Maybe Frank Viola could offer Gardy some advice on what not to do.
  4. Whenever a business decides to do this, it's prudent to have a tranquilizer handy, for there is safety in numb bears.
  5. I understand that the Twins will have difficult choices to make this fall for the 40-person roster, but I am sorry to lose Brian Navaretto. Of course, I was also sorry to lose Bobby Kielty, so what do I know.
  6. I was at a game at the Met during which the Guthrie Theatre (in preparation for the play Julius Caesar) requested that the crowd yell "Hail Caesar," after which Tovar came out of the dugout and tipped his hat.
  7. Buxton singled and his OPS went down.
  8. Mike: I agree with your assessment, but did not see his name for 1961.
  9. Jim Lemon?
  10. In 1968 I ushered a few games at the Met. One pre-game Jackie Hernandez was making very bad throws to the first baseman - a lefthander - wish I could remember his name. A coach emerged from the dugout and said (I wasn't real close so this may not be word-for-word): "Mr. Hernandez, why are you throwing so badly?" Hernandez, pointing to the first baseman, said, "He wanted me to do that." Coach replied (again, I wasn't real close) "Please refrain from doing that."
  11. It only works if there is a guy on the other end that catches balls in the dirt routinely. Hrbek, Mauer and mr. alphabet have been the only Twins that have done that. Hey.
  12. The last 3 games he has been very good: 3GS, 13 IP, 12 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 18 K. The problem I have with that line is the 3-1/3 IP/GS.
  13. If nominated I will not run, but from this I will.
  14. I have been thinking about Rooker, though I know little about his defensive abilities.
  15. There you go
  16. In addition to his improved offense and defense this year, it appears to me that Sano has become the leader of the team, providing vocal and visual support to his teammates.
  17. Rosario is lucky that, as well as he has been hitting, he hasn't been sent down.
  18. Though I am no expert, this is what I have been thinking. Our Miguel could benefit from viewing lots of Detroit's Miguel's at bats, and realizing that he does not need to try to hit it 600 feet.
  19. While Park is in AAA, I think he should play some games at 3B. I don't expect he will be great at it, but it might help alleviate the traffic jam at 1B/DH, and be a Plan B if Sano has injury issues as he has had the past two years.
  20. Age 64 - grew up in Twin Cities. Due to poor skating ability, sent to Iowa. Fan since 1961. Favorites include, but not limited to: Tovar, Allison, Pascual, Reese. Attended 1965 All Star Game (Mom wrote in for 4 tickets and got them). Ushered in 1968 ($4 per game). Only once had box seats - a Friday in August 1971 against Baltimore. Killebrew should have sprung for box seats for me on a permanent basis. Enjoy TD a lot. Thanks.
