  1. Yup, give me late 70's mid 80's with boxscore lines like 4 runs on 3 hits. (And time of game = 2:00)
  2. They say he can pitch Is he a two way play-er? They say he can hit.
  3. You are right, and I am wrong. I saw "Baddoo" and thought "Kiriloff". Thank you for the correction.
  4. Thank you, Seth; I've posted something similar in the past. But, looking the proverbial gift horse in its proverbial mouth, please correct me if I am wrong: #9: missed a season due to a serious injury #8: missed a season due to a serious injury #7: missed a season due to a serious injury Is there something in the water?
  5. But who would pay for the hot-tub "companions"?
  6. A thought: All the Twins' International Money plus some good to very good prospects for Seattle's James Paxton (and Ryon Healey as the 1B/ RF bat versus LHP).
  7. Grateful for a minor league system that had the best combined record and a whole bunch of playoff appearances. And yes, I am including a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds that hit the cover off the ball in the DSL.
  8. One of many Plan B's for the Marte money is Cuban OF Julio Martinez. Just 21, he hopes to play High A or AA ball this year. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=martin009jul He is listed at 5' 7", 157 lbs.
  9. Re O(h)tani (I've seen both spellings), here's my out-of-the-box idea: I've been surprised to not hear about (closest to Tokyo MLB city) Seattle in the sweepstakes. Should Seattle enter the fray, I'd love to trade some international dollars to pic up the recently traded Ryon Healy who would be the ideal bat to add. Here is his split line against LHPs: .314 .347 .526 .873 We might also get Sam Carlson in the deal!
  10. I’m just curious. How many other teams could take their top 50 prospects, and from that list create a 25 man roster using only those that are on the DL? To put it more objectively, if one were to peruse the Top Prospects list for all 30 teams, how frequently would one come across “missed the entire so-and-so season”?
  11. I concur. But, they have what we want: young pitching. And we have what they might need: international singing money. I agree this would be a “ hold your nose” deal, but the Great Satan does have some nice pieces.
  12. I one thing the Twins have that the Yankees want is (are) international signing dollars for the Great Otani Sweepstakes. I could see $1 or $1.5 million moving. Of course this would mean trading to The Great Satan.
  13. I think you meant to write that Frazier had a .366 OBP, not OPS.
  14. As for Lackey, I wonder how many of the home runs he gave up at Wrigley (with the wind blowing out) would be fly ball outs at the somewhat less friendly confines of Target. As for Werth, just how much in dollars and roster spots is the cost of maybe 150 PA's a year? But I am again in favor of 1-year deals while the Twins wait for reinforcements in 2019.
  15. Is it justice that the Twins' center fielder and a right-side-of-the-infielder won? Should we care it may have been the incorrect right-side-of-the-infielder? Congratulations to Bux. I hope can find a contractor to build him a nice long shelf for these.
  16. Thank you, Seth. I might be asking too much, but in future, could you add Rule 5 status (i.e., the year in which the prospect would be subjected to the Rule 5 draft)? My humble opinion. I would rate Moya higher. I could see him as a key part of the 2019 bullpen.
  17. Two thoughts. First, I don't think the original post intended this kind of signing to be the only move or, indeed, even the major move. These would be low-risk, low cost moves. Second, a shorter-term deal may make sense. Starting pitching in 2020 may not be a problem if the 2018 AAA starting rotation contributes by then. But, there is a hole or two between now and then. I may not agree with the list, but I understand the thinking.
  18. Ignoring additions via FA, how many, and which starters will be invited to the Big Club spring training?
  19. Let's not be hasty. Given their incompetence, maybe the Cleveland Browns could be convinced to trade for Grossman.
  20. So, best guesses, what will the 2018 opening day bullpen look like?
  21. I pre-ordered. How do I download it?
  22. Since no one has yet said it-- thanks for the article. As a few posters have mentioned, some of us have forgotten about May.
