  1. I don't think this is an issue. Should they get an offer for Dozier, they would be more willing to call up Gordon-- especially since trading Dozier would signal that the FO has waived the white flag on 2018.
  2. Thank you, again for your diligent work. I'm wondering if and when the Top Prospect list will be updated?
  3. That would be a wonderful problem to have for a team currently 6 games under .500
  4. I am less willing to attribute the 1-run game record to the bullpen. I attribute it more to a GOOD pitching staff, but an offense that scores 1 or 2 runs quite frequently.
  5. I appreciate your point, but I think AAA provides better insurance.
  6. My only concerns are Grace and that earlier round SS.
  7. There was a Funderburke with an "e" who played basketball at Ohio State...
  8. Here is *a* way they could play them all. Six levels of minors x 2 catchers per level. Plus, at least one will quickly "demonstrate" that they cannot stick behind the plate.
  9. Does anyone know what the qualifying offer numbers will be this off-season? I would extend one to Eduardo. Extend Rosario. Negotiate with all three of the Arb-3 players: Gibson, Odorizzi and Pressley. By the way, the Twins have a total, yes, TOTAL of $24.5 million committed to next year. Mind you, the roster would then consist of only three players. Two more have team options. 7 are pre-arb 3 (mentioned above) Arb-3 players, and 5 each Arb-2 and Arb-1 players.
  10. I write this knowing there is maybe a 1% chance of this coming true, but isn't the pitching staff starting five kind of set from, say, 2021 to 2025? (In no order) Graterol Romero Berrios Gonsalves and just one of the large handful of five or six pitchers who should be up by then. And it will be (relatively) cheap!
  11. Now comes the interesting part: can they all be signed?
  12. C then A, but not B. By the way, the Dodgers have a pair of catchers in AA who are listed as top 10 catching prospects. What might the Dodgers need from the Twins this year to give one of them up?
  13. Plus even if the pick isn't BPA, they can spend more money on the next draft pick. That worked out really well last year. I doubt the went over slot for Ryan Jeffers.
  14. As I've mentioned in posts on other threads, I am guessing that he agreed to be signed under slot so the Twins can make a statement with their second round pick. Were do you think we'll see him first? GCL? Elizabethton? Maybe Cedar Rapids?
  15. I really hope they agreed to sign him below slot.
  16. Either Rocker or Turang will be available
  17. I suspect the FO will NOT go for BPA since it would not allow them a chance to show off how "clever" they are. Look for them to sign a college pitcher below slot. Then they will use the money to try to sign someone with "signability" issues in rounds 2 and 4. I don't think we will look back at this draft as a banner year. But who knows, maybe we'll be able to trade Lynn at the deadline for a competitive balance pick and (ha ha ha) maybe the Pohlad's will use the $7 million saved on Phil Hughes' contract to improve.... ah, who am I kidding.
  18. Does anyone know when the other MiLB all-star games will be? I concur with BillLum that there will be a lot of movement after them.
  19. Gabriel Moya's line against is reported as .196/.260/.326 (.586). This is excellent as numbers against a pitcher, but pretty awful as numbers FOR an MLB clean-up hitter. Morrison's updated numbers? .197 .312 .347 Just sayin'
  20. The Ft. Myer Miracle are collectively hitting .220, so any promotions to them couldn't hurt. Not that the Twins' FO care.
  21. How does this FO view AAA? As a step between AA and the Bigs or as an extended "bench" for the Bigs filled with potential injury replacements?
  22. Given the recent performance, I think it would be insulting to name a hitter. Presley or Berrios
