  1. They may if they think you are overpaying, which is what Wheeler at 5/100 is, imo
  2. Correct. Acquire pitching through trades. Controllable pitching.
  3. Wheeler was, at best, the 3rd best starter on a non-playoff team. IMO, not worth what he will get paid.
  4. If I’m remembering correctly, the player the Twins gave up for Odo has been converted to a pitcher.
  5. I don’t think Colina needs to be protected this year. He is not eligible to be drafted in the rule 5 this year.
  6. Seems like a good fit. Hopefully he will provide a calming force for the others in the pen. Much like adding a Thome, or Hunter, or Nelson Cruz seems to help the offense. Veteran leadership. But I hope a few more moves are coming.
  7. According to the baseball trade value simulator, Lewis has more future value than Mike Trout. Any deal for Lewis would need to be huge.
  8. Whew! Adding to my confusion was the New Britain tag line. Took awhile to make the connection
  9. I believe by selecting his contract, he will be replacing someone on the 25 man roster. Presumably Schoop.
  10. Does Colina need to be added to the 40-man roster after this year? Who else needs to be added?
  11. I agree about the accuracy of the site, although Bumgarner and Smith are rentals. The site does suggest that the Twins could get Luis Castillo (the pitcher) and Raisel Iglesias for a package of Kirilloff, Duran and Gordon. May have to add a lottery ticket or two, but both have multiple years of control. Would you do that?
  12. I’m not sure for quotation marks, but the placement of a colon can totally change the meaning of a sentence. “She ate Jane’s sandwich” “She ate Jane’s colon”
  13. With the Reds in a seemingly perpetual rebuild, what would a package for Castillo look like? They also have some other arms that may be of interest, such as Iglesias, Lorenzen, Gray, or Roark. Personally I would love to get Castillo, but I’m sure the cost would hurt a bunch.
  14. if it was easy, everyone would have a leg kick. Until Lewis tries losing the leg kick, we won’t know if it is the problem. But please tell me what you mean by “well beyond”.
  15. i don’t really have the answer. Ultimately the decision to change is on Lewis. Perhaps the Twins have tried, and now they let him fail until he is frustrated enough to change on his own. How many times did they try to change Buxton?
  16. Yes I did. I was referencing the leg kick, and added the age factor. Not all prospects mature equally, I think if he loses the leg kick we will see results. Seems to be working for Buxton. No need to panic.
  17. This. It’s a process, it will take some time. I expect to see the leg kick gone, or at least greatly reduced. With that said, the FSL is a tough league to hit in, and he’s very young by comparison.
  18. Found this on the mlb at bat site, in the transaction section. That was all the information listed.
  19. the Twins signed Oscar Corporan, 18 year old, 6’5” RHP
  20. I have seen Adrian Beltre and others on the rangers do this kind of thing, usually on pop ups where the second infielder is mimicking the catch. I would have pulled Schoop right then. If Odo had to make a quick throw Cron could have been hurt.
  21. Moved to Bloomington in 1964, age 6. Al Worthington, Jerry Zimmerman, Oliva’s rookie year, Camilo, Mudcat,Kaat. Been hooked ever since.
