  1. Thorpe is gonna go to ROC. As far as Tyler Wells...I’d definitely put him above dark horse.I guess he will just have to have the best numbers of everyone in the Twins organization... again.
  2. Maybe I’m just not seeing them, but last year you made frequent updates about who was released. I haven’t seen any this year. Have they really not released that many guys?
  3. I admit my opinion is based on a small sample of what I’ve seen while watching. Mostly because of what I saw in him in the futures game and in spring training this year. Frankly, he was not good. This my belief that he is overrated as far as major league impact, because he hasn’t done well in high pressure situations. Yes his numbers in season were good, but not amazing (3.54 era 1.24 whip). In fairness I think Thorpe is a high prospect, just not as high as you feel he is. Just a different perspective is all. Not saying he’s bad by any stretch so if that’s how it seemed I am correcting that notion.
  4. Agree completely about Reed. Just doesn’t have it. And I know a lot love Alcala but he simply isn’t a better pitcher than Wells. At all. And why is Wells in the pen? He’s definitely starter material, maybe long relief I suppose. But SP is pretty jammed so.. but yeah, No to Reed.
  5. THIS! HAHA. So true. The man had the best season of ANY PITCHER in the organization top to bottom, gets totally robbed of the Twins Pitcher of the Year, and not even a mention in this rotation. But we get a low A guy with a 3.75 ERA and a 1.25 whip. Not bad, don't get me wrong, but he simply isn't going to be major league ready BEFORE Wells. Frankly, I don't think Graterol will be ready first either. Thorpe (and Alcala) are the most overrated in the org in my two cents, which are on sale today for $.01
  6. I think we will no longer be able to compare players from here on out to players from 50 years ago. The game is going to be completely different.
  7. Prospect status is obviously heavily weighted on throwing hard and/or how much money they have invested in the guy. Forget the mediocre numbers in low level ball amirite? We have to have wishful thinking because we can’t possibly be wrong lol
  8. He and Alcala are overrated pitchers in this org in my opinion. There is no objective way he deserved minor league pitcher of the year over Tyler Wells by the organization.
  9. this is true. Poppen gets almost zero attention despite having better results than much higher ranked guys. I know more goes into these than results but really? Results like Tyler Wells are real, not conjecture. And I don’t think nearly enough emphasis goes towards real world results vs “oh he throws hard so he’s top 20”.
  10. Tyler Wells’ stats with at least 100 innings pitched in all of the TWINS MINOR LEAGUE system ERA- 1st (including majors over 100 ip) WHIP-1st (including majors over 100 ip) Batting Average Against- 2nd (only behind Gonsalves by .011) WINS- 2nd (only behind Gonsalves) Hits/9- 2nd (only behind Gonsalves) K/9- 3RD BB/9- 4th BB/K- 3rd Result= NOT top 20. Lol.
  11. Sorry lol Phone version doesn’t allow for italics so that’s what I did instead. Please find it within your clutterheart to forgive me
  12. How the heck do you NOT invite Tyler Wells? He had THE best numbers in the ENTIRE ORGANIZATION. Some of those position guys had mediocre years to be honest.
  13. I’d guess you could find a similar story on every single team’s fan site. I don’t see either of them coming here. Harper to LA because he is a west coast guy and likes modeling his beard.
  14. Not really true. Many guys have increased velocity. I expect Wells to for sure. Dude looks like he’s not even trying and it’s 90-94.
  15. I don’t get the hype for Alcala. He throws hard and that’s about it. His delivery is very visible to hitters and his not great numbers show it. Tyler Wells is a much better overall pitcher. May not have the 99 mph but I’ll take pitching over just heat.
  16. Small spike and that could very well be due to tighter zones as he says in the Prospect handbook. Also, his Ks went up as well as a lower ERA and BAA. I don’t think anyone would care too much about a little spike in walks when everything else is significantly better. Tyler isn’t related to Lachlan
  17. That’s why I said September.
  18. Calling it now, he's a September call up, if not sooner (depending on needs/injuries). I also like Rortvedt for a breakout. Kid is due. Would like to see Stashak put it together as well.
  19. No. Excuse me while I remove the foot from my mouth and head from my butt lol
  20. I have a buddy of mine who always tries shopping at flea markets and thrift stores looking for antiques, knickknacks etc hoping to score something valuable for cheap. Kind of reminds me of this.
  21. Ok look, I don't have a blood oath or money on that or anything lol. OBVIOUSLY it goes without saying that that is pure speculation and opinion, and we all hope it comes true. I'm not of the feeling that you can put all your eggs in the "future" prospects as they mostly seem to be doing. I am saying that I see where they're coming from and frankly it's either going to work great or it could be a total mistake. I heard on MLB network radio today a guy insisting the Twins are real contenders in 2 years, BUT no mater how talented our young guys are, we need the veterans and established stars. I'd like to see them secure a couple of great leaders to assist in what many believe is a talented young crop of guys.
