Is Grady Sizemore Becoming an Outfield Whisperer?
Jacksson replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sizemore need to put in additional time with Martin. Martin looked terrible in RF when in a game not that long ago when the charitable hometown scorer gifted batters in successive innings with a triple and then a double on what were clearly fielding errors.- 14 replies

JUST IN: They are really getting SERIOUS about attracting LeBron up in Minnesota. Minnesota Timberwolves have reached a trade agreement with the Lakers to acquire Bronny James. Minnesota Timberwolves have reached out to the league for permission to change their official team name from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Minnesota LeBrons. Le Roy, Minnesota has put before it’s governing body a bill to officially change it’s name to LeBron. A Minnesota lake of his choosing will be renamed = Lake LeBron The Minneapolis City Council has put through a motion to change the name of 1st Street to LeBron Street = The Target Center is located at 600 1st Street. The Governor of Minnesota has DEMANDED that until July 1, 2030, the National Weather Service is forbidden to include in it’s forecasts any and all references to the word SNOW and is further forbidden from including in it’s forecasting any an all references to temperatures lower than 35 Degrees. After a through analysis of state administered social service programs, Governor Tm Waltz has determined that LeBron James once he takes up residence in the state, due to his distressed level of income from the Minnesota Timberwolves (as the team is currently named) qualifies Mr. James for financial and service support under the following programs: Feeding our Future, Emergency Housing, Home Health Assistance, Medicaid, Housing Stabilization, Integrated Community Supports, Substance Use Disorder Services, Home and Community Based Services, and Personal Care Assistance. A review is underway to determine other state assistance programs for which LeBron James may qualify. Stay tuned for more news that includes interest in LeBron from the Twins.

A player, any player, just returning to the lineup after being out with a hip injury, has no business attempting to steal a base, regardless of his history of success at doing that until such time that a track record of actual game experience proves that the injured hip is sound. Since he's now on the IL, the evidence is that the hip was not completely sound.
-
Instead of screwing around with Buxton's initial injury and putting a band-aid on it and hope that it got better, when hip problems first appeared, he should have been placed on the IL immediately. Not doing so was a disservice to both player and the organization. Considering his injury history as well as his value to the team when he is able to play defense as well as bat, this is a guy that needs to be handled with kid gloves. After having only just rejoined the lineup after his initial hip issue, what was he doing trying to steal a base OR was it a failed hit and run? If Buxton did it on his own, he should be fined. If Shelton called the play, it was a serious error in judgement. Chances cannot be taken with the health of the organization's STAR player when he is just returning from injury.
-
Don't look now - Buxton is out again after re-injuring himself on an ill conceived, ill advised, careless, risky, failed stolen base attempt. If he tried this on his own, he should be fined. If Shelton orchestrated it, he's an idiot. This merely points out the poor decision making which led to the team's failure to put Buxton on the IL a week or so ago as he should have been. Thanks Joe, your trade value went up.

Have We Reached the End of the Road for Matt Wallner?
Jacksson replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
An OF with a "cannon for an arm" only has value if: he can motor to where the ball is hit, cleanly field the ball, throw to the proper player/position, ACCURATELY throw the ball. -
Have We Reached the End of the Road for Matt Wallner?
Jacksson replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Let's see: + Home Town Boy, - Can't Hit for Average, - Can't Field in RF, - FAILED Multiple Opportunities to Produce in the Major Leagues, - Little or Zero Trade Value, - DH Only = Crash and Burn. -
7/04 = Clemens goes 3-4 with a homerun and drives in 3. Bell goes 3-5 with TWO homeruns and drives in 3, And yet the Tin Man is given the HEADLINE & GLORY !!

"Buxton SPARKS Twins' Fireworks In Return From a 4-Game Absence" (From MLB.com). The Tin Man Returns!! And how many games was he the DH because he was unable to play in the field? I wouldn't call going 1 - 3 with 2 strikeouts as SPARKING - just because he hit ONE Double and a Sacrifice Fly. Also of note and concern = 14 strikeouts 7/03 (4 batters accounted for 10 = Bell = 2, Lewis = 2, Kreidler = 3, Gray = 3) and 10 strikeouts on 7/04 ( Lee = 3 & Buxton = 2 for HALF of the 10 strikeouts. Just what are the hitting coaches doing to earn their pay? Two Games = 54 outs and 24 outs were due to strikeouts.

Twins 2, Yankees 5: You Already Know
Jacksson replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Gray is only playing SS because Kreidler has to play CF due to: Byron "The Tin Man" Buxton is out of the lineup for the XX straight game and the ownership/management lacks the guts to just put him on the injured list. Of course, Fedko or Martin could play CF but management trusts them both less than they trust Gray at SS (Too Bad, the team doesn't still have Outman to plug into CF!!). So why are Fedko and Martin even on the 26 man roster?? And for that matter, why is Gray? How much longer is the bullpen leash that is being given to Orze?? Sure seems he has more clunker appearances than good ones. On the bright side, Funderburk threw 2 innings without issuing a walk !!- 43 replies

Minnesota Twins Hitter of the Month: June 2026
Jacksson replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
And at the end of June, Buxton the Tin Man is dinged up once again but management/ownership has failed to put him on the IL (gutless) where he belongs so that he can heal up this season after his previous 2026 season trips to the IL- 5 replies

Given the state of the Twins bullpen and it's ability to fritter away win able games, the Twins are lobbying the league to award Gomez a save for his effort tonight in coming in, getting 3 outs and protecting a mere 5 RUN LEAD !!

Martin was a horrible embarrassment in RF a week or so back when he misplayed two singles that were charitably scored as a triple, 1st inning, and a double, 2nd inning by the inept, visually impaired, hometown scorer. About that time, Keaschall took over starting in RF. Keep him up until after the Great 2026 Trade Deadline Clearance Sale, then send him back to St Paul to rediscover how to hit and to learn how to play the outfield.

Astros 6, Twins 4: Walks Do Haunt
Jacksson replied to Cory Moen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Ryan's problem is between the ears. When things don't go well or as expected, he falls apart. He needs: a strong catcher in calling a game, a pitching coach experienced in dealing with pitchers who get rattled, a manager who can see that his pitcher is getting rattled and is prepared to take action. This guy needs to be coddled and have his head screwed back on straight by trips to the mound by: Catcher, Pitching Coach & Manager. This lack of cold, hard, composure is what is holding Ryan back from being a top starter. With time, experience and coaching he may eventually "get it" and then again he may never "get it". -
Astros 6, Twins 4: Walks Do Haunt
Jacksson replied to Cory Moen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Quit coddling Buxton the Tin Man. You don't have enough guts to put him on the DL because he is your so called best player and without him in the lineup your chances of winning games is diminished. BUT he is less than 100% and that means when he is banged up he is not your best player. The team is going nowhere and Tin Man needs to go onto the DL so he can get closer, by getting healthier, to being himself. -

Way to tank your trade value; nice going Joe !! This performance is exactly why Ryan should be traded at the deadline. -
I think it is a miscarriage of justice that a pitcher who enters a game with a 5-3 lead and then promptly serves up a HOMERUN to narrow the score to 5-4 is credited with a save even though he did get the final out.

Let's examine the 2025 offseason, 2026 Spring Training and the second half of the 2026 season and make some observations with respect to the front office, the manager, the coaches, and ownership. Third Base = Was Royce Lewis, Now Brooks Lee Shortstop = Was Brooks Lee, Now Tristin Gray & Ryan Kreidler Second Base = Was Luke Keaschall, Now Kody Clemons First Base = Josh Bell & Kody Clemons, Now Royce Lewis Right Field = Matt Wallner & Austin Martin, Now Luke Keaschall Center Field = Byron Buxton & James Outman, Now Byron Buxton, Ryan Kreidler, Kody Clemons Left Field = Trevor Larnach, Now Trevor Larnach Catcher = Ryan Jeffers & Victor Caratini, Now Victor Caratini & Alex Jackson DH = Trevor Larnach, Josh Bell, Byron Buxton, Now Josh Bell Certainly does not instill much confidence in the organization and their ability to identify, analyze, coach and utilize the on field product. What in the heck were they doing? The time and place to learn and start at new positions IS NOT when the season begins !!
