  1. From the cardinals I think I'd like a package of Alex Reyes, Delvin Perez and Sandy Alacantara. Maybe throw in a low a ball player. That package would be far better than what the dodgers could give us
  2. Am I missing something here. Too many pessimistic people in here. Could they go after another 2B? Sure but not likely an impact on their lineup. If the dodgers value championships, then they will get a deal done for dozier
  3. Yeah Palka and granite for Santana would be an absolute no brainer. People value prospects too much
  4. Yeah that's fine if a package of the 2-3 are off the table. Totally reasonable. And would be totally reasonable for us to say thanks but no thanks here too. We are already doing them a favor by helping them get over a hump. No need to get taken cleaners as well
  5. Exactly. To get over the hump it should cost a premium. Giants got better. Cubs just won World Series. Hell, Indians got better to if they want to be able to knock them off. A few unproven prospects that may or may not help you in the future is a small price to pay if you have a chance to win it all
  6. I think the opposite is true. Having the first pick makes it less appealing to forfeit a pick in the 2nd. If you underslot the number 1 pick you should have money left over to get a good player in that spot
  7. That's an interesting package. Much better than the De Leon and Stewart package discussed by dodger fans. I'd still be interested in De Leon, Alvarez, and Lux package though
  8. If the dodgers are that high on De Leon than let's not have him included. Let's let the dodgers keep him and go for Bellinger and Alvarez. You can't just look at WAR. In the knoblauch Yankees trade the twins got more WAR out of the deal but it was considered a win by the Yankees because they got the World Series. They would take the trade 100 out of 100 times if given the chance and so would the twins. If it's just even WAR then a deal isn't getting done. There is considerable value in getting the ring.
  9. No more like chuck knoblauch helping the Yankees to World Series rings
  10. The thing that makes no sense to me is that they don't want to get a player to put them over the top. Yeah you give up the prospects but isn't that worth it if helps you win a championship?
  11. Didn't Seattle give up tijuan walker for segura? Walker was a top 10 prospect. That'd be like dodgers giving up Urias
  12. Great. Dodgers will be happy they can keep him and Calhoun and give us other prospects then
  13. I'm not sure why people have 3 untouchables. I mean we are giving them dozier and letting them keep their top prospect. They should let us pick the first two, any two in their system and then high upside guys
  14. I got an idea. Since dodgers love prospects so much let's offer them Tyler Jay, Daniel Palka, Felix Jorge and Aaron Slegers for Clayton kershaw
  15. I'm not sure what twins fans facisnation with Stewart is. A 4 or 5 starter. De Leon is good but he has durability issues and his stuff isn't fooling major league hitters. Already 24 too. He carries a lot of risk and profiles as a 3. If it's just those two then dodgers fleeced the twins. To get one of the top MIF in baseball you should have to give up at least 1 prospect that hurts a bit. Bellinger or Alvarez absolutely need to be included. You can keep your stud Urias and be happy you did
  16. Trading them for AAAA talent doesn't help the rebuild. Only helps if you get a fair trade in return. Dodger fans don't want a fair trade.
  17. A 5'8" corner outfielder that was too fat for 2b isn't exactly appealing
  18. Fine look at the top 100 from 2010. Most likely over half are busts. Point is that dozier is a for sure thing. Prospects are just that, prospects
  19. My answers: 1. Urias 2. Alvarez, de Leon, Buehler, Sheffield, Stewart 3. Bellinger, lux, verdigo, Calhoun 4. Maybe as a 4th piece assuming Alvarez, de leon and Bellinger or lux are already included 5. Keibert Ruiz 6. Anybody can be had if they are valued properly. For example if dodgers value a 5'8" DH as a top 100 prospect in baseball I probably don't want him. If he's a 4th piece then sure. 7. At least 2 of Bellinger, de Leon, and Alvarez and then some high upside. I'll say Bellinger, Alvarez, Keibert Ruiz and then maybe a fringe prospect like de Jong 8. All 3 of the big 3 mentioned above plus high upside player. 9. No 10. 5-7 both years 11. I'll set it at 30
  20. De Leon is ranked 33 and Jay is ranked 36. Same questions about durability. Alvarez and Romero are both guys with great stuff but control issues and high risk associated with them De Jongs write up was similar to Felix Jorge. They are probably about the same as a prospect goes Thorpe and Buehler both have high potential and great stuff but neither have proven anything with surgery to their pitching arm Calhoun and arreaz are both small guys that may not have a position but have a bat. Unfortunately for them their bat probably only plays at a position neither can play. I actually like arraez better than Calhoun here. All I was doing is putting comps in Twins organizations where it made sense to help us see more perspective into what LA is offering us. I don't see a comp in Bellinger or a few others. Maybe a lesser justin morneau.
  21. I'm going to do a twins comparisons for some of the guys discussed De Leon = Tyler Jay Alvarez = Romero De Jong = Felix Jorge Buehler = Lewis Thorpe Stewart = Aaron slegers Calhoun = Luis arreaz I think the first 3 on that list and a top 30 prospect like Keibert Ruiz would be fair for a 40 homerun 2b. If you look at it this way it almost seems like it's not enough because I think we realize the bust potential of prospects and Dozier is a for sure thing impacting them now.
  22. A fair package would probably be Bellinger, Alvarez, Keibert Ruiz, and then just throw in a AAAA arm like a brock Stewart
  23. Reading some dodger forums and they are absolutely delusional. They think de Leon, Stewart and Calhoun should get it done and is overpaying. The one poster wanted dozier and polanco for that package. They are nuts. We have no need for Calhoun at all unless he is a 4th piece. Stewart is 25 year old already with only 1 maybe 2 pitches. De Leon is 24 year old and good prospect but major concern about his shoulder and ability to fool major league hitters. With how far off the fan bases are, I'm assuming we will keep dozier and let dodgers keep looking up at other teams in the NL
  24. . Prospects in general are overvalued and rarely pan out. I mean look at the 2010 dodger top prospect list. Maybe 1-2 became anything. Or take a look at the twins list from a few years ago. Similar story
  25. We have a lot of pitching coming up. Gonsalves, Berrios, Jay, Stewart, Romero (similar to Alvarez) and we have the number 1 pick to use on pitching. Thing is those guys are just prospects. Could just as easily bust as De Leon with his bad shoulder and limited innings and Alvarez. Could they turn out? Sure but pure numbers say most won't. When acquiring prospects, you usually need to acquire a few to make it fair because of the safety in numbers. Even then it's not for sure they'll pan out. Twins won't trade one of the best 2B for scrubs. At that point, he is more valuable on the team. Deal needs to at least be fair. If dodgers don't want to offer a fair trade, then so be it. They can continue to look up to the other teams in the NL while they waste kershaws prime years
