  1. Mine when up yesterday to both Phoenix and Vegas. Not surprised either. I'm at an reginal airport with a handful of decent direct flights. I go to one Vikings road game a year and those flights are marked up the SECOND the schedule is released. I was at my computer waiting last year because I suspected that was the case and wanted to confirm. The airlines know this stuff before we do.
  2. I can't imagine the Pohlads would do any more big money extensions before closing up shop. No matter when a sale happens, at this point Falvey will be in charge through at least the 2025 season though; it's too late to replace him. So I suppose it's possible that Falvey and Boras have knowledge the general public doesn't and know which way the wind is blowing in terms of new owners. But that would imply a healthy level of optimism that I have been unwilling to bet on concerning the future ownership of this club. I'd be happy if my skepticism turns out to be unfounded and we get a sugar daddy though.
  3. This loss of homefield advantage could easily turn into chip-on-our-shoulders advantage for the Rams if McVey and the media spin this all sympathetically.
  4. Not sure if the Pohlad's care any longer. Weird that the players wouldn't fight tooth and nail knowing ownership is only concerned with the sale at this point. There must be some other angle that we (or just me) aren't considering.
  5. Fun list as always. I'm excited for Jenkins too, but I don't think a guy with 6 AA games is the top value in the system though. I don't think you get Lewis, Ober, Ryan or Lopez for Jenkins straight up. I think you have to add something to Jenkins. Maybe you get Ryan.
  6. I can't imagine the fires will get to the stadium in Inglewood, if it did, that probably means LAX is already burning down and that would be bigger news. But last I heard the fires were near Santa Monica and that's close enough. Obviously the air quality will be a big concern, but does LA really want traffic and planes associated with an NFL game clogging up that area? LA should be telling Goodell and Kronke they aren't catering to their greedy little mouths this week and they can take their silly little game somewhere else.
  7. Racism doesn't have to be overt to still be racism. I'm sure often the thought process goes something like, 'Well, we're in bad shape, it would be good PR AND we'd be doing a good deed if we hire the black candidate. Our roster is terrible so it doesn't really matter who we pick, let's throw the guy a bone.' Even if they think they are doing a good deed, they're still setting him up to fail and stain his resume, basically making the guy disposable.
  8. Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins are also likely join them. No studs, but way more capable long time starting QBs than normal. The 49ers are old as dirt. Honestly, I'd probably give one of those cheap veterans a shot while I try to find a long term elite passer since I don't think Purdy is much better than that group and definitely not worth locking in long term.
  9. Agreed. If you don't have a Jackson/Allen/Mahomes type who can win you a championship, don't tie yourself to a contract like that. Purdy is much closer to the unsexy free agent QBs like Darnold and Russell Wilson than he is to the upper echelon.
  10. Yeah, collusion is the issue. But I think Kraft is one of the few who are fine telling the rest of the league to screw off.
  11. If anyone has the balls to hire Flores, it will be Robert Kraft. But hope he hires Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn instead.
  12. Yeah, that's the market. I think SF is in for a long stretch of mediocrity. Purdy is fine, but unless he has stud players around him, he's not going to do a hell of a lot. He can't drag a team to the playoffs on his own like the top QBs are capable of doing.
  13. Hard to feel bad for him though, because he lucked into the decent situation he was in the prior two years. Before McDaniel got there, Tua was a 'bust' and the offense was terrible. Hill can lie all he wants about knowing things would turn around but he didn't, he took the top dollar and just happed to get lucky that McDaniel was able to turn the QB into a usable player.
  14. He's had practice. But last time he was 28, not 31.
  15. If the Twins can continue to manufacture these relievers, (and their strategy of drafting middling college starters, adding tons of velocity, then moving them to the pen seems to be working), they absolutely should be churning these guys out and flipping them for areas of need.
  16. I would suspect new owners will more than likely bring in a new person by at least year two. But I don't think the issue is that Falvey needs a high payroll blank check, the issue is that he was given a high(ish) payroll two years ago which he used to sign three big, long-term contracts (as one obviously would). Then the next year was told to go improve the team with negative dollars.
  17. This sounds suspicious. Don't these things usually take a year or more? Or is this like when someone leaks that dozens of clubs are calling about Brian Duensing hoping you get one club to bite?
  18. Right, combined Bezos and I are making 500B in revenue too. Things are looking pretty good....for one of us.
  19. Lot of that going around.
  20. Ryan Poles is suggesting the Bears could trade for a coach. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43323941/bears-look-all-avenues-find-new-coach I know people threw out this idea with Shanahan as the target earlier (terrible, awful, fit for Caleb Williams BTW), but seems like there may be steam here. My prediction would be Kevin Stefanski. Good coach, hindered by terrible ownership and terrible QB. The Browns would probably love to get out from under the remaining four years of his deal too. I don't want this though. There are very few exciting offensive minded HC options this year; mostly it's defensive guys. And obviously after the Eberflus mess and with them needing to develop Williams to his peak, the Bears will want an intriguing offensive guy. I think Stefanski might be an excellent fit. So I hope it doesn't happen.
  21. Where to even start? Probably best not to I suppose.
  22. Yeah, shocking that NFL teams aren't interested in him any more. Now he just seems petty and indignant that Brady got more credit than he did and delusional because he won't take any blame for the terrible rosters he constructed after Brady left.
  23. No, reports now are that Kraft picked Mayo to be the successor several years ago, Belichick didn't like that there was a succession plan and Belichick barely even talked to Mayo that final year they coached together.
  24. With the reported dissention between Kraft and Belichick, I don't know why they didn't want to clean house and start from scratch. Anyone tied to Belichick is going to constantly be compared to Belichick. Should have found a completely different group of leaders and a completely different style of football.
  25. True, but the teams that end up snagging the winning lotto tickets that debut at 18 or 19 years old and become super stars, often do it with these international guys. Beltre and De Los Santos from last year are fairly encouraging.
