  1. http://sports.cbsimg.net/images/baseball/mlb/players/60x80/1670491.jpg Alfred E. Escobar. What, me worry?
  2. CBS GameTracker: "Jones doubled to center, Markakis scored, Jones to third on center fielder Doumit fielding error." So is Hicks catching?
  3. Careful using "seems like". I did that last year and found out they actually keep track of those things.
  4. The computer nazis at my work block all streaming radio (and YouTube) but it looks like KTWIN has a stream available on their website: 96.3 K-TWIN# Woops...I missed the thread from a couple of days ago about game broadcasts being blocked out from the website. Not sure if that applies to the pre-game shows though.
  5. Hey Brad, thanks for starting a mail bag. I always kinda assumed all mailbox questions were made up (or at least compiled paraphrases). Here's a question for your next one: Torii Hunter made some statements welcoming Aaron Hicks to the line of great Twins centerfielders and said he'd hit for power not just be a slap hitter. So who was Torii dissing most?
  6. Hey, thanks for this summary. I didn't get a chance to watch or even listen to the game at work so these insights are helpful.
  7. As others have noted it depends on how you define "expectations". Most of us agree it's not win/loss so much as caliber of play, excitement, development of the young core, etc, that will generate the expectation that this team is improving and fun to watch/follow even if they are not currently contending.
  8. I agree that the baseball analysis has been great and I've learned a lot. But I've also learned from some insightful posters and enjoy the humorous banter. But I think we can all agree that what gets old is some posters penchant for pushing their predictable responses over and over. I just quickly scroll to the next post. One thing I noted viewing the forum page (before it was changed) was that there was typically only 50-60 "members" with 10 times as many visitors. I know others are content to read without offering their own ideas...But, I wonder if some want to contribute but don't want to subject themselves to possible scrutiny or ridicule (direct or snarky). I am always encouraged when a brave new soul enters the discussion and offers a new perspective. I think that's why we need to be civil, especially to new posters. Just my cents worth, my brothers.
  9. Brew Dutera.

  11. Hey, I'm following the game on Gametracker and am wondering how Carroll's bunt didn't advance Hicks to second.
  12. Maybe you should try a different website like cbs sportsline: MLB Baseball GameTracker - Minnesota Twins vs. Toronto Blue Jays - Feb 26, 2013 - CBSSports.com Live Scores and Stats
  13. You also will have other options to watch minor league games in person...Idaho Falls Chukars are the Royals rookie league team and the Salt Lake Bees are the Angels' AAA team.
  14. ...like the helmet protecter helmet Gary Bussey had in a Saturday Night Live skit...
  15. Not that it matters but it was one of the last games of the season and Swarzak came in to relieve Duensing who had an "ugly" outing against the Yanks and only lasted 2 or 3 innings. Swarzak actually pitch pretty well. But it was one of the few games I actually got to watch on mlbTV so I don't know what his "facial-hair" usually looked like but it was not pretty that day.
  16. Wow...now I feel terrible...last year in a game thread (in a moment of frustration) I made a disparaging comment about Anthony Swarzak's neck beard. If you're reading this Anthony, I'm truly sorry.
  17. Yeah, no sense giving a 23 year old another chance to establish himself in the majors especially with all of the other options they brought in.
  18. To quote George W. (and The Who) "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...we won't be fooled again."
  19. I too enjoy Thyloss' insight and perspective and am glad he contributes to Twins Daily. But I will definately wait on investing in a "Baker jersey" the next time he proclaims a done-deal signing.
  20. The stat era's new measure of futility - the Butera line of below .550 OPS?
  21. [quote name=Twins Twerp;60323 No one' date=' that is what we are trying to say...Thyroid broke the story, before the story happened, and we are saying debating whether or not this is a good idea committing 3 years to him (which is what Thyroid Gland broke on his twitter account).[/quote] Hypo-thyroid does seem to have insider info on breaking hormonal news.
  22. I don't know but we shouldn't go trading Willy Nilly for him.
  23. ...especially when they come out from under the bridge and attempt to communicate with humans...
  24. I took the afternoon off work, ordered MLB.TV for the rest of the season ($10), and have enjoyed actually watching today's game despite the unfortunate eye problem with Deduno and the bad inning by Duensing. Is anyone else out there?
