  1. I'm so glad I'm stuck at work and can't watch this. I have a feeling it's going to end badly.
  2. Thankfully it appears the experiment is over - Kinley out, Slegers in. Now the question is does Hughes go to the pen or does Slegers? https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/tyler-kinley-designated-for-assignment/c-273931974
  3. Can we safely place Mr. LaMarre on the Twins Mt. Rushmore with Glenn Williams, Luke Hughes, and Dusty Kielmohr or is it still too soon?
  4. One doesn't just luck their way into an .800 BIBIP.
  5. Just with a quick glance at the Rochester roster, you've got Jake Reed, Nick Anderson, John Curtiss, Matt Magill, D.J. Baxendale, and Mason Melotakis that would likely be no worse, if not a huge upgrade, over Kinley. And that's if you don't want to move any of the starters to the pen.
  6. I liked watching him leave the mound after being pulled from that embarrassment last night. That count?
  7. They've also played anywhere from 4-7 fewer games than most teams in the league. If at the end of the year Hildy's at 80-85 games, would that qualify for overuse? That's what he's on pace for. And, yes, they do have that blowout guy, but he's failing in that role, too. There's more than enough disgust to go around for this pen, but you have to start with what the easiest fixes are - guys with options, guys without veteran contracts, 27-year-old non-prospects, etc.
  8. We don't know because he can't be trusted. And that's kind of the point. Perhaps if they could trust him, or have somebody else that they could trust, they don't send Rodney out for the 10th on opening day. Perhaps they don't leave Duke or Hildy in too long or overexpose them. Yes, the overall state of the bullpen is the major concern, but when you've got a lot of question marks out there, can you really afford to give up one of those spots to someone who can't be trusted in non-blowouts and doesn't seem to have the capacity to be the multiple inning mop-up guy? So, no, Kinley has not directly cost the team any games, but it's one less bullet in the chamber for a group that needs every last one of them.
  9. Fingers crossed. Although, LaMarre back to Rochester would allow them more time to assess the precious high-velocity arm of Tyler.
  10. Ah, Justin Haley, how I miss you ... when compared to Kinley.
  11. The only problem is that Turley is likely a far superior pitcher to Kinley ... as astonishing as that might be having watched Turley pitch.
  12. Last night, it appears Alan Busenitz was justifiably sent down to Rochester. This morning the Twins recalled Tyler Duffey to take his spot. Yet somehow, Tyler Kinley remains on the roster. How does this happen? The guy is a complete and total trainwreck. So far he's had one good (not clean, but decent) outing, one to be expected outing, and two disasters. I honestly believe the only thing keeping him around at this point is the hubris of the front office. This was their move and by all accounts it's been an absolute botch job. At this point Bard would likely have given them more, Chargois (yes, I know the two moves aren't technically related, but they sort of are) would have likely given them more, and even the imploded elbow of Nick Burdi would be giving them more right now. It's time for the FO to admit their mistake and move on.
  13. I currently have zero warning posts, so I'm ready to rock whenever.
  14. You guys member when the bullpen was so rested that Berrios got pulled after 84 pitches?
  15. Holy crap, can this thread be locked? I saw it in the recent posts list and almost had heart failure.
  16. And, yes, let's talk about his defense. Which play did you like better this weekend? The one where he overthrew the cutoff man on Friday or the one where he overthrew the cutoff man on Saturday? True, neither ended up mattering much, but at some point they will.
  17. I think you owe Eddie an apology for comparing his ABs to LaMarre's. Best case scenario in a LaMarre AB is that he bleeds a single through the infield. Provided they don't throw him a curveball.
  18. Man, Robert just mashes lefties.
  19. Someone must have texted him to let him know.
  20. Bite your tongue, sir ... that last fastball hit 88.
  21. Here's what's wrong with baseball scoring rules ... that AWFUL throw from Grossman in right qualifies as an assist.
  22. Hildy up in the first? Gonna be a long day, fellas.
  23. 4 games in Yankee Stadium, so they're going to need a fifth starter. If their going to trot this one-year wonder out there, I'd rather it be against Tampa. That said, I'd rather they sell his contract to the Sugarland Skeeters.
