    Exactly. I get that he's more familiar with the infield, but that's hardly a safer place to play defense in my mind. So much more going on around you.

    I forgot about Polanco. He probably should be at the top of the order, though it's not as though he was hitting either. That's kind of our point though. Plenty of ways to skin a cat, but I don't know if any particular way is better at this point.

    If I'm going to bunch those guys, I think I flip Lewis and AK and make the 2 thru 4 hitters. Let Julien lead off?

    I don't really disagree with any of that. What would you do with him though? Move him down? Who do you move up? And we know he's playing hurt. For whatever that is worth, it can't be ignored. There aren't enough hitters in the lineup producing. You're pretty much stuck riding your veterans hoping they eventually turn it around. But that's also part of the problem. They really don't have any other hitters in the minors either. They're kinda stuck. Not really an easy answer at this point and it's nearly June.

    A better option. I'm not sure that it matters a whole lot right now with the way most of the lineup is scuffling.

    Valid points. I just don't see the infield being any safer, whether he's more comfortable with it or not. He's athletic enough to learn a position and that versatility is a selling point for Boras. You may be right in the end, but in my view, I don't really see it mattering much. Regardless, it's a good talker and a good problem to have.

    Lewis can get hurt just as easily at SS or 3B. There are walls to deal with around the infield too. Plus other infielders, baserunners, dugouts and tarps. I don't see how the infield is any safer.

    Ideally, Buxton is the guy roaming CF. But if not him, my vote would be Lewis. The Twins have the luxury of having a guy that could play SS and CF plus another guy that looks like he could stick at SS too. That doesn't even account for the guy currently residing at SS that's here for a while longer.

    I see. I misinterpreted what you said. I'd much rather see them switched too, but I can understand why they're not if Gallo is banged up.

    I would say that Gallo is a much better outfielder. I haven't seen him or Kirilloff enough personally to say much about which is better at 1B. And if Gallo has a bum leg or whatever, it makes sense to keep him at 1B as much as I dislike it. Kirilloff's bat needs to be in the lineup.

    The disparity between the hitting and pitching stats should not shock anyone. It's still alarming to see how the numbers unfold by comparison though. Gotta do something with the offense.

    Can't imagine he got activated and called up to sit on the bench. He should be a regular until someone pushes him off 3B.
