  1. TR has the league right where he wants them - below the Twins on the waiver wire claim order.
  2. Does that even sound reasonable? 25-30 HRs sounds like a lot for a platoon guy. Especially one that strikes out 40% of his ABs.
  3. That sounds eerily similar to last offseason...
  4. I urge you to check out his latest album featuring MC Handel.
  5. Arcia phenomenon v2.0. He hits HR's occasionally, so it obscures the fact that he's hitting .210, strikes out a ton, and otherwise performs poorly at the plate. It's feast or famine, nothing in between. This isn't a recipe for success. I'm not suggesting that Park be given up on already, far from it, but this mentality is part of why the team is in this predicament to begin with.
  6. I thought I had a headache before I started reading this thread. Now I have a headache and i'm suddenly nauseous too.
  7. If I could get that for Dozier, I'd do that in a heartbeat too. That's not really a knock on him as much as I think assets that could be used to acquire other assets and allow a guy like Polanco to move up is the direction that this team needs to head in.
  8. I'm not into college baseball much either, but I did see the highlights of that yesterday. That kid's adrenaline and level of euphoria must have been through the roof as he rounded the bases. Fun stuff to watch.
  9. Hopefully the stein has a well sealed lid. Can't be spilling the pain concealer.
  10. To stay more topical, beer. Lots of beer.
  11. For the life of me, I don't understand why I willingly clicked and watched that link.
  12. That's why the correct answer to that scenario wouldn't involve Nunez at all. Polanco plays 2B.
  13. I understand that, but by DFA'ing him your hand is forced and you have less leverage. That would also give you a feel of how likely it is that he clears waivers.
  14. There isn't a clear plan for anything in this organization, so I doubt there's one here. I don't really get it either. Park isn't playing well enough to dominate the DH discussion, so there's really no reason Arcia can't be rotated in a couple of times a week.
  15. I like DanSan as a utility guy. Nothing more, nothing less.
  16. Now I'm starting to understand more. TR seems to be doing the opposite of what makes sense, so it's only "logical" that they claim him the second time around after he's been cut loose by a second team in 3 weeks.
  17. As much as I tend to rip Arcia, I think DFA'ing him would be a mistake without first seeing what his trade value would be. He'd probably be a good fit on a few teams.
  18. Agreed, though I might lean towards Polhad because he's allowing the other boob to continue to sit in the GM's chair.
  19. I'm starting to lean in this direction as well. The irony is that if I were the one making those decisions, moves like these would only seal their fate. This is the exact opposite of what is needed to be done.
  20. I'd laugh harder at this if I didn't think that there was even a remote chance of this occurring. Sadly, I think there is a chance...
  21. You sign decline phase veterans to short term contracts making sure that you don't block any of your prospects or otherwise deserving minor league players from jumping up to the major league level when ready. Once a few of those pieces start to trickle to the MLB level, then you start to spend more on longer term contracts with viable veterans to fill in holes that you don't have in your own system. The Twins are executing part of this, but they've managed to do it in an extremely putrid level (i.e. rotation). However, they also do the opposite of this by signing the likes of Ryan Sweeney AND Carlos Quentin. One of those signings I would have been okay with, but both accomplished nothing but take PT away from your top OF prospects. The FO continues to compound that by bringing in the David Murphy's, Darin Mastroianni's, and Logan Shafer's of the world. Those moves might be fine on a contending team to provide veteran depth, but that's the last thing this team could be considered so it's simply a waste of time and money.
  22. The Twins should be rebuilding. Should have been rebuilding for the last 3 or 4 years. Somebody forgot to tell them that though. And they apparently aren't able to figure it out on their own. That's the most frustrating part of all of this.
  23. Generally speaking, I think Grossman has been a pretty good addition to the roster so far. That being said, I'm continually frustrated by his inability to properly back up Buxton. He needs to understand Buxton's range and that if he's not positive that he's going to get to the ball, he needs to break off his pursuit and back up his centerfielder.
  24. The point is to block advancement of internal options that could otherwise be rewarded for their hard work and effort.
  25. I would have been in favor in that case. Alas, Chargios get sent down instead. The lack of prospective or direction in this organization is baffling.
