  1. Frankly, hitting that pitch the other way is exactly what you should do. You're just going to roll it over to the SS anyway if you try to pull it. That's not to say that it's easy, but it's much easier to flip that pitch to RF than it is pull it.
  2. It's been so long that you don't remember how to properly celebrate a win?
  3. Colome got out of the inning and here I am without a celebratory Scotch!
  4. Colome pitching and here I am without Scotch...
  5. Interesting ruling. Why would that be an out? It was ruled a HBP, which makes the ball dead.
  6. How long till it's fully effective?
  7. I'm sure they'll blame it on the cold. It's a good thing that it doesn't get this cold in October in MN...
  8. I think he's also testing out that theory that the order of the lineup doesn't matter. I realize that Garver has good numbers leading off against a lefty, but he isn't hitting anything right now and has no business at the top of the order. Garlick at cleanup? Its a wonder they scored a run at all. I've been very disappointed in his batting orders so far this season.
  9. I think the point is that the pen can't hold a lead they've been given. You're right, the FO planned to get 4 or 5 innings a game out of the pen and they guys they chose haven't been up to the task. That philosophy puts pressure on a bullpen. The bats inability to extend a lead only puts more on it. These are the guys they chose. They most certainly don't get a pass on that.
  10. Yet, almost routine with this squad. So frustrating.
  11. Yup, I know. 5 of the Twins 7 losses are tagged to the pen. Shortening the game with a shutdown pen is today's game. Look at what TB did last year.
  12. I'm not overly concerned yet. As you said, it is early. I'm not sure that I'm as optimistic about the offense as you because the issues they're having are issues they've had for several years now. And they're not hitting for power to make up for it, but their as a few things to give hope.
  13. And the bats don't help build on a lead when they've got it.
  14. Too many strikeouts and abysmal situational hitting will do that.
  15. Interestingly enough, Maeda's loss was the first loss taken by a starting pitcher this season. The bullpen is a problem. Not the only problem, but definitely a problem.
  16. That was part of my 2019 comparison. That team crapped the bed in the playoffs. You were being optimistic that the team would straighten things out though. This team, as it's currently producing, is nothing close to that comparison. I wasn't getting excited about anything.
  17. On the bright side, the Twins pitchers ended Devers home run streak!
  18. Agreed, and that's why people are going nuts!
