  1. I'm a Cardinals fan as well, so I never get tired of watching that bomb. I know exactly where I was when I saw that. Just one of those moments. I remember laughing at the contrast of reactions between Pujols, Lidge and the Houston crowd. Oddly enough, I remember seeing him play for the first time when I was in StL his rookie season. We were sitting in the LF seats and he started in LF. He dropped a routine fly ball in the 9th that cost them the game.
  2. As often as he's hurt, it's entirely possible that he doesn't play enough to dip below .300. Though, given Detroit's luck , he'll probably stay healthy and put up abysmal numbers and end up like Pujols.
  3. Agreed. He's obviously a 1st ballot guy anyway, but I agree with the .300 mark as being a bit more special for a career of that length. Even though he had some good and productive seasons in Anaheim, his BA has never been there for basically the entire contract. Shows how good he was in his prime.
  4. No doubt. I hate it when it happens, but also appreciate when a legend goes out before it gets to that point. I admire the guys that can go out on their own terms.
  5. Ha! Not like Cabrera has been lighting it up though, either. Regardless, I'll take that as a sign that I've had enough Scotch for the evening!
  6. Quite an ugly end to two all-time great hitters in Pujols and Cabrera. Man, they've put up some ugly numbers.
  7. But did they still come out ahead on the financials?
  8. Definitely. Doubling down on the same side of the coin isn't a recipe for success.
  9. As a season ticketholder, we get mlb.tv for free, but that doesn't do us a lot of good for blacked out games. It's nice to have it for out of market games though. I'm also a Cardinals fan, so I watch a lot of their games. I end up using it just as much, if not more, for the audio service. I'll listen to random day games at work all of the time.
  10. that's the weird thing for me. It's background noise frequently, so the radio works just as well. And if I'm watching the game, I usually have music playing while the TV is muted.
  11. Which, is saying something given how painful it is to watch them in non-clutch situations.
  12. As a cable cutter, I've seen more of every other team in baseball than I've seen the Twins play...so, it's not all what it's cracked up to be. Luckily, I've made due just fine and I don't miss the visuals of this team very often.
  13. So then, inability to score runs at all would be as big a problem.
  14. I would argue that their inability to build on leads is just as big a problem. That puts too much pressure on the pitching to be perfect late in games, which they clearly aren't capable of doing.
  15. Agreed. Unfortunately, allowing the other team to score late is also a big issue. That's a bad combination.
  16. Ssshh...I've got to unload tickets to a couple of games that I can't attend...
  17. Kinda seems like that is how this season is going, doesn't it?
  18. But how am I supposed to rant about [insert irrational topic du jour]?
  19. Good call up. I think we know what Rooker is, so no reason not to see what Larnach can do. With luck, he does well enough to put a little pressure on Kepler to come around, or to jettison Cave.
  20. The opponent wants to win too. They're just better at it.
  21. You're saying that Cuzzi's performance today doesn't warrant a playoff assignment?
