    I read this as well. Last night I think that Gardy was looking for Shafer's defense to help May. Today, Arcia is injured. That failed squeeze bunt attempt and the subsequent strikeout by Shafer were painful to watch. On the other hand, it made the As announcers very happy.

    I am glad for Fuld that he is getting to play for a contender.

    I have to wait for the Yankees-Indians to be over until this will come on MLB Extra Innings. Missed Dozier's HR.

    I saw some of that. It does not bode well for his future with the Twins.

    I am off to dinner. If this goes extra innings I will be back. Dinner is about a 6 minute walk, depending on how the light breaks crossing Wilshire.

    I agree. But maybe this is a kid who might benefit from some low pressure long relief to build confidence with the least possible amount of pressure.

    We go there a lot. There are two waitresses most nights and a lot of waiters. They are all on a first name basis with my dog, who loves the calamari and the mushroom pizza. The mushroom pizza is the best dish on the menu. Also, I would never order oysters in a month without an "r". I had a bad oyster experience in my youth.

    Maybe next time the Twins should have Deduno pitch the first few innings until the Twins are hopelessly behind then have May come in as long reliever with a lot less on the line?

    I think they need to talk with him between innings and ask about his fatigue level. He has thrown a lot of pitches in two innings.
