    The guy on second tried for third, and the ball was cut off and that guy got tagged out sliding into third just after the the guy who started at third scored. Excellent play by Escobar blocking third with his foot and holding the tag. Ump called the play safe, but on review it was clear that he was out.

    I see JB's point, and I took this into account in posting my moderator note at the beginning of the thread. We are walking a fine line here. We do not want to inhibit discussion, but we also want good threads. I was worried that some people would derail the thread based on their sincere feelings that the negative facts deserve more focus than the positive facts that were discussed in the article. I appreciate the feedback. Please keep in mind that all eight moderators are doing their best to find an ideal balance between letting threads develop and not letting them spin out of control. None of us believe that we are perfect or have all of the answers. We are all volunteers who do the best job that we can.

Let's not turn this thread into a debate about how bleak things are. Let's try to keep on topic -- happy notes. There are many other threads on TD for discussing unhappy notes, and you can start your own if you wish, but please don't derail this one.
