  1. Like! I am now out of official likes.
  2. Dozier could easily steal home right now with the lead that they are giving him.
  3. Vargas needs to be more selective against a pitcher like this one.
  4. Well, that actually worked. Maybe Gardy is using a smartphone to follow today's game thread.
  5. Try him in the bullpen.
  6. This is why spouses should not be allowed to attend Modcon. Now they have an ally on the inside of our operation.
  7. If that happens and ash plays it correctly, then he will have a reason to avoid chores during the rest of the season.
  8. Maybe someone should start a thread about that.
  9. I think that helped you a lot.
  10. I just googled "Warren Municipal Liquor Store" and your post was on the second page of hits. Google seems to be watching this thread.
  11. Not a good inning for the Twins, unless you take draft order into account.
  12. Question -- would it be unfair to the contenders if Gardy used 3 callups in every game to be consistent?
  13. I hope that I have saved enough likes to make it through the rest of this game.
  14. I wonder why the Twins put him on non-revocable waivers. It would have been nice to get something in return. Maybe he made it through revocable waivers and there were no takers?
  15. It seems to me that May is showing flashes of goodness and we might want to be more patient with him. Eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings suggests to me that he may one day be a solid pitcher. Yes, he hit two batters then gave up a grand slam, but before that he seemed to be doing pretty well.
  16. Stand up straight and you will breathe better.
  17. You can assume that in perpetuity my friend.
  18. I was on late last night and gave out a lot of likes, so it will probably be a while until I can give more.
  19. Damn, we are only in the third inning and I have exceeded my daily quota of likes. I wish that someone could lend me a few.
  20. If she complains then I will throw her into the cement pond.
  21. i dream of having a pig.
  22. Because this is a lost season, I would like to see as many September callups as possible. As a fan, this will give me more reason to watch games, and more hope that another prospect will surprise us like Santana and Vargas. Mauer, Plouffe, Dozier, Escobar and Suzuki could benefit from some days off and I think that it would be fun to watch some prospects take their shots. It also makes sense to me that rewarding achievement at AA and AAA sends a positive message to all the minor league prospects -- work hard and you will get a shot. What would be lost by calling up a few of the more deserving prospects?
  23. This article contains some interesting statements by Terry Ryan, including the following: Pohlad said last fall that Ryan’s job is safe as long as he wants it. Ryan said he appreciates the sentiment, “but everybody’s got a breaking point,” and he doesn’t believe he deserves such loyalty. “I would never hold Jim Pohlad to that statement, because it wouldn’t be fair to him,” Ryan said. “We’re losing way too many games here for anybody to put that kind of faith in anyone.” I admire Ryan's admission that there is some basis for terminating him and hiring a different GM. Maybe this is false modesty, but after reading the entire article, my sense is that Ryan is being sincere.
