    I have waited until now to read Brian's game thread. Today was a long day, and I deferred gratification because I knew that I might need it more later in the day. Good #5 Brian, but I could still use a Carnak or two from someone.

    Moderator note -- I just deleted about 5 posts from this thread. The problem began when one poster characterized another poster's opinion as "a lie". That was a clear violation of TD policy and that poster has been issued an infraction point. I also deleted related posts, because they were part of a digression from the baseball discussion. I appreciate everyone's passion here, but people need to remember that we all have the same dream -- a winning team. We may disagree about how to get there, but we share a common mania. TD is a place for RESPECTFUL discussion. All posters must give respect to fellow Twins fans, even when they feel that the other person is clearly wrong. Feel free to disagree and debate, but make the effort to to follow our policy, which can be found in the TwinsCentric forum.

    I think of the Dart as the Phoebe Cates of automobiles. Not the fastest and not the most beautiful, but an ideal companion who would turn a desert island into Paradise.

    I am not getting tonight's game on TV, but it appears that Nolasco has pitched pretty well. Let's hope for more of that.

    Based on the eye test, it seems to me that Santana might perform better if he were to play 5 to 10 feet deeper. It seems to me that Santana has problems getting to balls that are hit to the wall, and playing a little deeper might make a significant difference for him.

    Moderator note -- my squabbling alarm is sounding. I think that we can all agree that the Twins have played very badly this year, but there have been significant bright spots. The rest of the debate seems to be focused on the appropriate level of unhappiness each of us should feel. That part of the debate seems somewhat futile. It's OK to continue, but please keep in mind that how we each feel is inherently subjective.

    Seriously, you must have been reading my mind. I love you guys but cannot understand the passion about statistics. Be glad that you have an exponentially larger choice of statistical measures than existed in the old days and keep in mind that there will always be lots of room for (respectful) debate.

    I used Ticket King a few weeks ago and am very satisfied with their pricing and service. With the TD discount, it's a good bargain.
