    Hunter had a pretty good game today for someone who is done -- 3 for 4, a home run and 2 RBI. I am not saying that signing Hunter was a good move, but maybe it was not as terrible a move as some people have opined.

    I am appreciating the way that Plouffe is developing, and think that he has the tools to get even better.

    Beating Sale then winning 1-0 with a great showing by Gibson then winning today will have provided a great fan experience. Hopefully more fans will start showing up at Target Field. I have my tickets in hand for Anaheim this year.

    Player A: 17 year old black teenager in Baltimore who riots out of anger. Player B: 55 year old Wall Street billionaire who made hundreds of millions of dollars through fraud and helped crash our economy. Which player is worse?

    I fail to see any basis for arguing that Hunter "conned" Ryan. Is there any evidence that Hunter was deceptive? It seems to me that Hunter received a rich offer and he accepted, but maybe I am missing something here.

    Bottom line -- it seems to me that these people care too much about money, because money is so important to getting elected and re-elected. I once ran for the local school board as a protest candidate and to the surprise a lot of people, I beat two incumbents. Once I was in office I found that it was often difficult to persuade the other board members to do what they knew was right, because the others were worried about making waves and offending special interests. I think that our best hope would be a third political party with a platform that is fiscally conservative, socially liberal, and willing to go to war with the special interests that suck trillions of dollars out of our economy. It would take some money and some dedicated people to get this going, and this is an idea that people have pursued without success, but it seems to me to be our best hope.
