    The away games have been better, because the Twins have not had to pitch the 9th inning.

    I have read a lot of posts on TD about what the Twins could have gotten for Plouffe and my sense is that most people agree that Plouffe would not have yielded much in return. And we will never know what kinds of trade offers may have been exchanged that involved Plouffe. For all we know, TR called every potential trader, or maybe he did not call even one.

    I "liked" the post because it is thought provoking and insightful. That said, my sense is that the Twins are not without plans. Maybe the plans are bad plans, and maybe the plans sometimes seem stupid to some of us, including me, but there are logical arguments in favor of almost every move. And the Twins management knows a lot more about the players than we do. For example, moving Sano to the outfield seems like a bad move. But maybe the Twins concluded, based on close examination, that Sano's defense at 3B would be poor and that Sano was athletic enough to play RF -- Sano did come up originally as a SS, and despite his size he seems fast and relatively agile. And from what we know, it appears that Plouffe would have yielded very little in a trade. Please keep in mind that I am not defending the plan. In fact, I think that, overall, it may turn out to be a bad plan, and if things don't work out then TR should be held accountable. What I am saying is that it does not seem fair to me to say that there was no plan. I am also hoping that the plan may yet succeed.

    Please note that when I saw this I added a line at the top to credit the true author. That was not a perfect fix, but it was all that I could figure out that I could do.

    I thought that Jepsen seemed competent in the closer role last year. I wonder how his closer stats stack up.

    If Perkins does not perform better soon then I believe that Jepsen should get a chance at being the closer.

    This is beyond painful to watch, but so was the start of last season.

    There are plenty of threads on TD other than the game thread where you are welcome to vent so long as you follow our posting policy.

    Moderator note -- I just suspended a poster for a day for not heeding the second post in this thread. If you have not read this and you are inclined to detract from the objective of this thread (fun) then be prepared to take a day off from TD.

    Moderator note -- Brock posted this in yesterday's game thread and people need to cooperate. "game threads are meant to be light and fun enjoyment of the game. If you're going to complain about every move made by Molitor, Ryan, or even TC the Bear, do not be surprised if a moderator asks you to tone it down and/or leave the thread if you keep it up. We all make fun of the team and/or complain but if that's all you're going to do, reconsider why you're posting in the thread at all. This is entirely at moderator discretion and consistency will be applied when and where we feel like it."

    It would be nice if the Twins could keep it going for at least an hour and wear out the KC pitching staff.

    The Twins are the only team in the AL without a win. Hopefully that will not be true for much longer.

    I hope that Molitor has made it clear that it would be better to let the ball drop than for those two to collide. In a worst case scenario they could both be injured and they are too valuable to risk for one catch.
