  1. I'm not saying don't try, because it doesn't hurt to ask, but I'm thinking the Brewers laugh their butts off on the other end of the phone. I don't think there's a chance in hell that the Brewers would be that dumb. Rumors are rumors, but it sounds like Peralta was not included in Brewers-O's talks. So they don't seem that desperate.
  2. I would assume it would be impossible to convince a potential playoff team to give up a pitcher who's already in their starting rotation, especially one who is young, and only get rentals in return.
  3. He did last year on offense (slash line). He's also doing it again so far this year.
  4. I've been going back and forth on this. Finally just caught up on the thread and feel like I'm leaning towards trading him. The rotation next year will be Berrios, Odo if he's here, Pineda, and two of Gonsalves/Mejia/Littell/Romero. May maybe too, but I prefer him as a RP. Even if you add Gibson to that list, I'm not sure that's a rotation that can even compete for the WC. There are a bunch of teams ahead of them this year that would probably still be ahead of them next year, with or without Gibson. From what I recall, the free agent pitching market is not great. Expecting two of the prospects to hit the ground running plus a guy who's coming back from TJ...seems like a big uphill battle already. It feels like they're already out of the 2019 race. That sucks to think about. Wasting more of the years of the young players, some in part because they've stumbled themselves. It goes without saying, but it obviously depends on the return. If they can get Sheffield you say yes. I would have a hard time wanting to trade him if they'd be getting back a significantly lesser prospect than that.
  5. i do plan on watching that one!
  6. It probably was the environment, but it's too late to change that. The movie was already predictable so seeing it again and having an even worse opinion of it won't change that for me. A know a heck of a lot of people who thought of it as a jumping movie because of the supposed suspense. I'm a very, I guess you could call it, desensitized person, so it takes a lot for anything to affect me. Just was not suspenseful and completely predictable. I like movies where I can't call out what's going to happen next for every single scene. I was hoping everyone would die about 30 minutes into the movie. Get Out felt more suspenseful to me and was a good movie too.
  7. I felt zero suspense which is what the problem was. It wasn't suspenseful at all to me. It may have been the drive-in effect, I'm not really sure. I know a few people who said they jumped several times when they watched it. Didn't happen to me at all especially in that movie when you always know it's coming. That's why, for me, it was completely overrated. I felt zero.
  8. I didn't have high expectations of A Quite Place so take my next words however you like... I saw it at a drive-in and it was not scary/thrilling at all. Since my expectations were low, I'm not sure that was the problem but maybe it was. I think watching it on DVD will have the same effect. It might be better to try to see it in a cheap theater because I think that might make the movie better (big dark room, big screen). I thought it was overrated.
  9. Well, he was the next bat I wanted but I liked Turang, Kowar and Rocker better...
  10. Turang is still the guy I want. I'd be okay with a few others too, like Kowar or Rocker.
  11. I know I wanted Gore or Wright and didn't think Lewis had enough bat. Still wouldn't mind having Gore, but can't complain about Lewis.
  12. I'm hoping a decent HS position player is there to take. I like Brice Turang, but not sure he makes it that far.
  13. NSFW means exactly what you said "not suitable/safe for work". It means he was dirty/filthy etc. in baseball terms. You want all your pitchers to be NSFW. It's a very good thing.
  14. Lynn to BP, get rid of Hughes. That's how I see it at this moment. Doubt my feeling will change in a few weeks.
  15. i don't think "figure it out" is the right phrase for it because I would hope they aren't that dumb. We all know Dozier prefers to lead off/bat 1. And I could swear Joe at minimum has said in the past that he prefers to hit third (it was many years ago as he hits two mostly now) or doesn't like to hit lead off but I can't find anything to back that up. I could be misremembering. Anyway, if I'm not wrong, it's more like Molitor is letting a few players control his lineup card over what makes sense. And it wouldn't surprise me if Molitor went with a vets preference over what makes sense. That's Molitor's thing.
  16. oddly enough, I don't expect him to give up many. He's only given up 62 in 800 some innings. Five-ish HR per 162 games seems low to me but I have nothing to back that up. I worry more about the walking a hits/walks parade tightrope every appearance.
  17. Minnesota Twins 91-71 (#2 in AL Central, WC #2) Offensive Player of the Year: Logan Morrison Most Home Runs: Miguel Sano Starting Pitcher of the Year: Lance Lynn Relief Pitcher of the Year: Addison Reed Twins Rookie of the Year: Stephen Gonsalves
  18. Happy for the dude. Hopefully Rowson works his magic on him. His swing does look better in that clip. Now he just needs to put it to use when he's called upon. Didn't really matter if it was him or Granite as neither will play much if the three regulars are all healthy, which is what we want to happen.
  19. im not saying he can hit like that for a full season. Maybe he can, maybe he can't. I really don't know. The thing is, he did hit league average for 100 and whatever ABs. He did what he needed to do when called upon. That's fact. Again, all I expect out of a SS, no matter how many AB's it is, is league average offense for their position and good defense. And he provided that with the slash line. Anything more is icing on top.
  20. He hit near league average for a SS last year. How high are your expectations? Because that's all I hope for out of a SS. Good defense and somewhere near league average stats. That doesn't mean I don't want a SS who could hit like Trout, but it's about being realistic. I don't think league average for a SS is poor.
  21. Im not hanging on to Lamarre spring training stats. And I'm not saying that's the reason why he should be called up. I was aware of his BABIP. I still wouldn't care if it's Granite or Lamarre because they're both not going to be contributing much. The Twins season is not going to be made or broken because of Granite or Lamarre. I just don't get that people are so completely against him being up. That's how I infer their position, at least. All I know is that I'm glad they gave Grossman a shot when everyone was against it, including me. No matter what his minor league stats said, his major league stats prior to the Twins were "meh". While he's not amazing, he's certainly way better than I expected. I'm glad they gave Adrianza a shot, which is one I was actually hoping they'd give a shot to and he delivered. There are some who still don't want him on this team after what he did last season, which I don't get. I'd be perfectly fine if Lamarre was in the minors. I'd be perfectly fine if Lamarre was in the majors. Like I said, I'd love to see what Rowson could do with him. Maybe nothing changes, but we'll never know if he never gets a shot.
  22. But what you're implying is that Lamarre can't make any changes to be better. That it's absolutely impossible. That's how it comes off at least. Adrianza was a very poor hitter prior to last year. He made swing changes and was able to hit near league average for a SS. People still don't want him on this team, though he seems to have turned a corner. Why is it impossible for Lamarre to improve? I'm not saying it's guaranteed he will improve but why is it impossible? You may be right. That the guy he was before is the guy he will always be, but you could also be wrong because he could change. Like Adrianza did. Like LoMo did. LoMo and Adrianza were given the MLB at bats. Why is Lamarre not allowed to get the same chance?
