  1. Promote from within. Unless you can trade someone the Org has no future confidence in for Neshek. Also any chance the Twins could trade Belisle or Brenslow to a contending team for....well anything? Would be better than just DFAing them.
  2. He'd definitely be an all-star if he could only get on base more.
  3. By trade for more bonus pool. Does that mean trading a player to another Org for a portion of their pool?
  4. Interesting to see how he changed speeds and maintained a similar release point. Thanks for the information.
  5. Good to see Melotakis cleared. Must be a good time to pass guys through waivers or there must be something wrong with his arm.
  6. Is Dillon Gee our 5th starter now? Curious who Hughes and Pressly will replace in the bullpen. Guessing Hildenberger gets sent back. Not sure who else they'd send out unless its Busenitz or hopefully Brenslow. Don't see them getting rid of Belisle.
  7. As painful as this team can be at times it sure is refreshing to see them bounce back after a tuff series like the Houston and previous Cleveland series. A little better pitching as a whole would go a long ways.
  8. Seth...were you able to confirm or deny whether the Twins could just place Melotakis back on the 40 man after 7 days? Basically giving him a DL stint and buying them time to get the MLB staff figured out.
  9. How long has it been since Chargois pitched? Could he be a 60 day DL candidate? Could Haley be sent back to make room?
  10. Only issue I see with the Lewis selection (Without the money involved) is it seems shortstop (of he sticks their like they believe he will) is of little need in the system currently. Can never have to many prospects at any given position. Especially up the middle. But doesn't seem it was necessary to spend the 1-1 pick on the position. Let's hope he turns out to be the Twins version of Derek Jeter and there's nothing to worry about.
  11. I'm with saving money on the top pick to get players the fall into the 35th and 37th pick and pay overslot to get them to sign. Which is why I'm sure #2 is the case as it seems they could've possibly reached on their later picks. As well as they seem to already have 4+ long term options at shortstop in the system. Which is why not drafting a pitcher they could be farther along in development at #1 doesn't make sense. Which makes option #2 make even more sense. I'm sure Rooker and Leach could be solid players. But appears the player or players they had targeted must've gotten taken before their picks.
  12. I agree with the above praise. I enjoy the big club post game wraps as well. As well as keeping Santana. You can certainly see that he has to be rubbing off on Jose. Hopefully pitching deeper into games wears off as well. Nice to have a pitcher that can strike his way out of a jam.
  13. Turley up to start huh? Let's hope he can keep it going. Isn't he a 2 pitch pitcher? Seems he'd do quite well out of the bullpen considering his strikeout numbers.
  14. Granite has to be the 1st outfielder up if someone where to go down with injury, right? Is it close to time to try a swap of Buxton and Granite to get his bat going? His defense can't be that much better than Granite to justify his slumping bat can it?
  15. I had been wonder why Turley's name hasn't been mentioned for a bullpen arm considering his strikeout rate. Seems he could help out quite a bit. I'm sure he'd have been considered if he were on the 40 man.
  16. Suppose the fix cant just be as simple as "Hold the ball tight with your pinky when throwing your change up."?
  17. I believe that there's a difference in the pitching coaches philosophies and ideas on mechanics between the minors and majors. Seems like theyre trying to fix Berrios after one start in MLB. Maybe it's because Allen came from outside the Org and everyone else is from within. Also free agent signings, trades havent worked out worth a damn, and the added pressure of playing on a struggling team and trying to do to much doesnt help.
  18. Sounds like a future piranha!! Good like the rest of the way Zack!
  19. Hmm...I thought Jay was supposed to pitch out of the bullpen in Chattanooga? Is he gonna get in a few starts first?
  20. When I first starting reading this I thought it'd be much more difficult to decide on only 15 players to protect. But after looking at the your list and reasons for not protecting certain players it seemed almost easy. And if you figure in all the other 30 organizations unprotected players the likelihood of losing some of the 16,17,18.... players seems even lower.
  21. It's great to see Jay not only doing well in his transition to starting but being dominate.
  22. I'm definitely curious why Palka isn't considered more of a prospect with those offensive numbers. Is it because he lacks defensive upside? To many K's? Also would there ever be a time in the minors where a manager may talk to his opposition before the game and give them a scouting report on a guy like Buxton? Like that he really struggles with breaking pitches and/or tends to chase just off the plate.
  23. The miss management of Kepler, Polanco, and Meyer have been big and inexcusable issues. Reminds me of Gardy....if not worse. I'd trade Dozier far before Polanco. We obviously have no idea how Polanco can play in the Majors but Dozier has 2 good half seasons. And has struggled this far into the year regardless of how he plays going forward. No reason why Polanco can't get more playing time other than they don't wanna hurt someone's feelings.
