  1. Melville was ranked ahead of Danny Duffy, Will Myers and Mike Moustakas in the royals system in 2010? Wow! If Mejia goes on the DL maybe he'll get his shot. Still just 27.
  2. Still have no idea why the Brewers wouldn't at least have someone within 10 ft of 3rd there. Seemed like a pretty silly decision to shift that hard with a guy on 3rd in a tie game.
  3. Rooker already has 10 homers in the twins Organization!? Wow! Hopefully he can continue to play well as he advances. Without checking his season stats. I'm sure he prob has a ton if stikeouts?
  4. I don't know whether to hope the Twins keep it up and make it interesting till the end of the year. Or to hope they don't just so we aren't wishing we still had Garcia and Kintzler.
  5. The frustrating part for me as a fan reading this. Is that guys like Sledgers and Melville haven't been given an opportunity yet. I haven't seen either of these guys pitch at all but I can't seem to see the benefit of pitching Gibson, Colon, Gee, Santiago, ect over giving these guys a chance. It reminds way to much of the Anthony Slama treatment. When they just knew he didn't have the stuff to make it in the majors but never gave him an honest chance. An honest chance where he could relax and not think he was throwing every pitch like his life depended on it. I feel like this is how these guys are being treated as well. Front office just believes they don't have the stuff to compete at the MLB level. Problem is we may never know unless they're given an honest chance.
  6. Twins defense definitely didn't help Mejia. But he still threw way to many pitches and probably had some bad pitch choices. Who would be behind Garver on the Org depth Chart?
  7. Enns, Gonsalves, and Thorpe pitching today. Should be an interesting day in the minor leagues!
  8. I certainly agree, Loosey. Have seen a few players leave MN only to have success when yhe new coaching staff just let's them play ball. I believe it was JJ Hardy who when hr went to the O's was spraying the ball around during batting practice and the coaching staff told him to basically " just hit the dang thing."
  9. Twins definitely need someone to fill the DH role who is more of a DH. I like Grossman but he doesn't provide enough power to justify being a DH. More consistent production from C, CF and SS would go along ways. Hitting like pitching is contagious. Easy for a whole team to follow suit when players are struggling.
  10. By the end of the year if guess the Twins will have had about 150 different lineups. Need some consistency. And like mentioned above. They have multiple hitting/ex hitting coaches on the staff. Over the past, I don't know how many years, I can't remember seeing many players make significant improvement. Only Berrios comes to mind. Could be scary if the hitters don't have a turn around to match up with what COULD be better pitching on the way.
  11. I'm also interested to see how the team would fare without Dozier Manning 2nd base. I think he is definitely more likely to get moved this off-season. And I just think Santana is to valuable to move. Even if he came back to earth. Seems his influence can help the young guys and has helped Berrios especially.
  12. I'd like to see the rest of what the 40 man looks like to see how many spots are available.
  13. "Getting a few more Mejia's" would be great. Assuming the few more can pitch past the 5th inning.
  14. Starters not getting deep into games has caught up to the bullpen the last week or so. Gets so tiring seeing starters out after 5 innings....or less.
  15. I think the Twins should do a couple small moves similar to the JRM deal and consider keeping Garcia around after 2017. Only one start but seemed better than the alternative. Santiago, Gibson, Colon or Hughes. Unless wowed by a deal for any of the other players teams may be interested in.
  16. Definitely need to keep Gordon. Whether he ultimately sticks at short or not. To many things point towards him having a long successful MLB career.
  17. Good to see Rooker and Lewis doing well so far in GCL. Although should probably be expected from Rooker being older and more experienced than most there I imagine. I never did see.....did the Twins get Enlow and Leach both signed? Will either pitch or I guess....have they pitched this year?
  18. Judge probably could've beat Sano's derby total in the finals alone. Guy is insane. No one I've ever seen in the derbys has hit opposite field homers hardly at all let alone with ease.
  19. If he was on base more frequently he probably wouldn't get chances like this to make big plays. Jones probably would've been hurrying to gun it home. Lol
  20. Nice to see Granite get the call. Wonder how he'll be worked into the lineup. Seems Buxton, Kepler and Rosario are all 3 playing well currently. Well deserved. Hopefully he sticks but I'm sure he'll be the odd man out baring an injury when a pitcher or Mauer returns.
  21. We're there not two outs at the time of the double steal? Calhoun stopped on his way to 2nd. Why not just tag him to get out of the inning?
