  1. Only two issues I have is Lamonte Wade being too low and also Gonsalves' ranking. The only two guys who have arguments to be rated higher than Gonsalves are Gordon and Romero. So with that, he should be ranked no lower than #3. Can't see how Jay can be ranked higher than Gonsalves when he is younger and has outpreformed Jay at both A+ and AA. Not to mention the fact Jay hasn't even pitched more than 84 innings in a season.
  2. I am going to start calling him Señor Dobles (Mr. Doubles) from now on. All the guy does is hit doubles. He should hit 40-50 this season, which is great extra base pop from your SS.
  3. Duffey also faced a AAA lineup and got lit up.
  4. Dozier is an extreme pull hitter. He is not all of a sudden going to start getting a bunch of opposite field hits. I like Dozier, just not at the top of the lineup. He is a low on base, power hitter. I hope Molitor realizes this and slots him anywhere 4-6.
  5. It makes too much sense to platoon Arcia with Park. So I expect the Twins to do something other than that.
  6. Even with blurred vision, Mauer had the second best OBP on the team, yet people want to move him down in the lineup. I would agree if we had better options, but we currently do not.
  7. Arcia had a bad August and September. He mashed in July. You are willing to just cut him for a month and a half of bad play? He hasn't even turned 25 yet. It would be terrible asset management.
  8. If Pohlad was serious about winning he would be willing to spend more. He doesn't care though. He is one of the richer owners in baseball and the Twins have been making pretty good profits the last 5 years: 2014: $21.3 million- Highest profit of 4 major sports teams in MN 2013: $30.2 million- #6 in baseball 2012: $10.8 million 2011: $16.8 million- #15 in baseball 2010: $26.5 million Even though the Twins were terrible from 2011-2014 Pohlad still made a nice profit. Also, the Forbes valuation of the Twins, prior to the start of 2011 season, was $490 million. Prior the start of last season the Twins were valued at $895 million and I would bet that valuation will top $1 billion in the next year or two. Jim Pohlad is laughing all the way to the bank, while we sit here watching a mediocre product that he refuses to go out and try to improve.
  9. Vs. Righties Buxton Mauer Sano Arcia Dozier Rosario Plouffe Escobar Suzuki/Murphy vs. Lefties Buxton Mauer Sano Dozier Plouffe Escobar Park Rosario Suzuki/Murphy
  10. The smart thing to do would be to platoon Arcia and Park at DH to start the season. Put them both in a position to succeed and build confidence.
  11. 18 of Dozier's 28 homeruns last year were solo shots. He needs to hit 4-6 to take advantage of his greatest asset. I do something like this: Against RHP: Buxton Mauer Sano Arcia Dozier Rosario Plouffe Escobar Murphy/Suzuki Against LHP Buxton Mauer Sano Dozier Park Plouffe Escobar Rosario Murphy/Suzuki
  12. He threw his curveball 39.8% of the time last year. That is the highest curveball rate since 2002, for starting pitchers who threw at least 50 innings. Will he be able to keep this up? I worry about his arm health, being that he throws his breaking ball so much.
  13. .vs RHP: .256/.296/.407 (.704) 93 PA's .vs LHP: .116/.156/.163 (.318) 45 PA's If you look at his minor league splits he absolutely mashed LHP at every level. I know it is a very small sample size, but his horrific numbers against LHP, made his stats look alot worse. I would expect him to be much better against lefty's this season.
  14. #2 Byron Buxton #17 Jose Berrios #60 Max Kepler #62 Nick Gordon Pretty surprised Jay didn't make the list. http://www.turnerpublishing.com/files/uploads/BP-101Prospects.pdf (PDF File)
  15. As far as food go's, I'm partial to Kramarczuk's myself. A nice Polish Sausage with Onions, Peppers, and Kraut is my go to at Target Field. Their Brats are very good as well.
  16. Inspired by a reddit post on r/baseball, which 15 players would you protect? Using the expansion draft rules from 1997, each team gets to protect 15 players. The expansion team(s) can then draft from the remaining players. Who would your 15 protected players be? Here are the specific rules: Fifteen players from the rosters of their entire organization -- both their 40-man roster, plus all minor league affiliates -- are protected. Players chosen in the 2015 and 2016 amateur drafts are automatically protected, plus players who were 18 or younger when signed in 2014. Players who are free agents after the end of the 2016 season need not be protected. Here is the list I came up with: Byron Buxton Miguel Sano Jose Berrios Brian Dozier Eddie Rosario Trevor May Nick Gordon JR. Murphy Max Kepler Kyle Gibson Tyler Duffey Byung Ho Park Eduardo Escobar Jorge Polanco Nick Burdi
  17. Earned Runs by AAA start for Berrios: 1. 4 5.2ip 2. 5 5ip 3. 2 7ip 4. 0 7ip 5. 1 6ip 6. 3 7ip 7. 0 7ip 8. 4 6ip 9. 1 7ip 10. 0 7ip 11. 1 6ip 12. 1 5ip So you surmise that the league was figuring out Berrios, even though he only gave up 3 earned runs over his last 25 innings?
  18. You seriously can't believe this can you? The kid was dominating the International League as a 21 year old in August and September. He had a sub 2 ERA with a ridiculous 53/4 K/BB ratio in 45 innings pitched. Straight domination as one of the youngest players in AAA.
  19. May averaged 10.6k's/9 out of the bullpen.
  20. I'd go with the offense that scored the most runs since the 2009 Yankees.
  21. Atlanta just bent over Arizona. Arizona gave up Dansby Swanson and two other good prospects for Miller.
  22. We need to get in on the Sipp, Bastardo, and Clippard sweepstakes immediately, and please god not Fernando Rodney.
  23. I'm guessing two non-elite top 100 prospects, so the equivalent of Gordon and Jay.
  24. He would have cost too much in terms of prospects and he is a FA at the end of the year.
