  1. The White Sox are going to be bad, man. Twins will have the better record. Head-to-Head, though, I think the series will be closer, since I doubt our guys will blast the unholy crap out of Sale every time they see him. Then again, his elbow is bound to snap into teeny tiny pieces any moment now, so maybe that won't be an issue.
  2. They're going to be pretty bad. All due respect to Miggy, but this is pretty much the same bunch of used-up old codgers from last year. Then you consider that their LF out of the gate last year was Cespedes, and Upton doesn't look so hot anymore. Then, you try to imagine a universe where Zimmerman is anywhere remotely close to David Price's calibur, and all of a sudden, it's not looking good for the kitties.
  3. Probably not a JR Graham autograph.
  4. Ah, my mistake. I would agree that he is not a 'failed' starter.
  5. His name is Trevor May, the 2016 All Star set up man.
  6. Would anyone be interested in scooping up Timmy on a 1-year deal? Could he add some value to the pen or is he cooked?
  7. And I do not want to see Milone anywhere in this team. Milone has done nothing but surpass ignorantly low expectations since he has been here. Arguably the best value in our rotation.
  8. Now that the dust has settled somewhat, and we're all ready to throw dirt on Murphy apparently, it seems clear that Murphy isn't our catching upgrade. He's an upgrade over Hermann, and maybe there's a smidge of a chance that he fits into our future. I don't think we're done looking for an everyday catcher. I think we're in for a lot of big moves. Which is pretty weird.
  9. Everyone should probably try not to forget that Hicks was unanimously worthless until August 2015. Probably got a good deal in that light.
  10. I don't think this means our OF is set, and I certainly don't think it spells Sano in RF. I think this probably means we're going after Rasmus, or something like that.
  11. I am aware of a team trying to play Hanley Ramirez in the outfield. How'd that go?
  12. With all the talk about positional log jams and young, talented players being blocked, i cannot believe how the Plouffe supporters are coming out of the woodwork right now. Plouffe is, like, okay. I think if you can find somebody who wants him and is willing to take Nolasco as a part of whatever the deal is, you go for it. We just need to open up some space. He really isn't going to be missed that sorely.
  13. Oh, you guys and your Arcia talk! I don't know whether to laugh or cry anymore.
  14. You know, Kubel might not have been as tall and handsome as Kepler, but...he was much uglier.
  15. Yeah. whoopsiedoodle. Ummmmm...thinking...I think that's probably pretty average, but in terms of the core group, I think we're looking very young. maybe it's just a matter of perspective.
  16. Projecting next year's opening day starters by age: P: Gibson, 28 C: Suzie, 32 1B: Mauer, 33 2B: Dozier, 29 3B: Sano, 23 SS: Polanco, 25 LF: Rosario, 25 CF: Buxton, 22 RF: Hicks, 26 DH: Vargas, 26 and you can probably scratch Suzie in favor of someone a hair younger, but that's an average age of 27 for what look to be our starters next season, so I'd say they look pretty young.
  17. Are you being serious? Because our best hitter is 22. The oldest core OF we have is 25. One of those core OFers is the consensus brightest prospect in baseball. We've got a top-20 guy ready to step into the rotation. But you already knew that. So, "cool" is right. What else do you want? I'll hang up and listen.
  18. Generally, I agree with that, and I think that historicallly, Minnesota sports fans are guilty of this kind of thing and that's why we're terrible fans, in general (that's a separate argument all together). But come on, guys! we're just finally crawling out of the basement. The kids we have on the field are playing competitive ball. Unfortunately, that's a HUGE step in the right direction. The plan to let this overwhelming crop of overthrow the old regime is coming to fruition. I'm happy just to let this vision grow a little bit before I start savaging TR for changing course because we've surpassed expectations.
  19. hmmm...WC game or contention for the next 8-10 years? None of you know who was available and for what. The Jepsen thing is a total bummer. But if you really thought Tulo could be had for Gibson, puuhhhlease. Nolasco for Shields is still my favorite of course. Let's all take a breath, count to ten and think of what we've been fortunate to enjoy this year. Then, take a step further and picture how unstoppable our Big Mig-Buck-Rosario-Berrios core is going to be for years to come. Ryan gets my respect for his patience and committment to our system. (bracing myself for negative vibes and...."add comment")
