Actually, I still have a VCR hooked up to my TV; it's actually a VCR/DVD combo. And I never use it anymore. I didn't even remember how many tapes and discs I had ... more than I thought. But, well, I'm in a 'cleaning out the closets' mode and have made my piles ... keep, toss, recycle, donate. While some places might still take VCR tapes in donation, those are few and far between at this point in technology. So I found a place, after doing my research, that will take technotrash, such as cassette and VCR tapes and actually recycle them. I had to pay $10 + shipping, pack them in a box, and off they will go ... as soon as I make my way to the post office. It's better than the landfill. Just trying to do my part. As for the ice cream part ... yeah, I also try not to keep ice cream in the house. I have spurts of success with that ... but greater spurts of failure. But I enjoy the failure.
