    Oh for ****'s sake ... **** ... I think it's time for my shower.

    Well, not everyone lives in an evacuation area; and some elderly folks aren't as adept at escape. Basically just made sure they had a full tank of gas, fresh water, flashlights and batteries, and food that doesn't need power to cook and eat.

    Well, if you hear a strong wind that sounds like a freight train, take cover.

    You were never a boyscout, were you? I wasn't either. Nor was I a girlscout. But last summer I put together a hurricane preparedness kit for my parents who live in Florida. If you are going to get bad weather, have a good flashlight in the ready at the least. The radio ... well ... if power goes out, you might want something. You can use your phone, but then that wears its batteries down.

    Do you have a basement? And a good flashlight (with fresh batteries) and a transistor radio (with fresh batters)?

    Yeah, well, not to be punny, but there's always a learning curve and this is Bux's to learn. But some pitches are going to just be good and will fool even the best of players. I'm hoping Bux will get there. Learning curve and all.

    Okay, that's fair ... just kind of remember ... we all know how things are ... I mean, I say my fair share of ****s during bad games ... but then move on. It's only a game ... and in these trying times, let's use the threads to pick each other up instead because we really NEED that right now. 'K?

    I'll wait another month to say that because ... well ... just because ... but I'm hoping that yeah, that was just what was needed for him.

    yeah ... that's why it would have been even more fun to see ... although some might say the ball was misplayed off the wall, but I don't and won't.

    Okay, but are you going to watch that scene over and over and over again ... every single game, every single play ... and have it still be funny? Maybe you are the only one still laughing at it after seeing it 100 times in a row within a 3-hr period. I stopped laughing after the first time I saw it. Now, just stop, okay? If you want to continue this discussion with me in private, please do.

    Man, that would have been fun to see ... a 2nd in-the-parker in the same series. Would he have made it?

    These threads used to be fun ... win or lose ... they were fun. That was kind of their point. To kind of give the feeling of sitting out in the bleachers watching a game with your buddies. The point is we ALL KNOW HOW BAD THE TWINS ARE ... these threads are supposed to give us SOME RELIEF from that, just a little. You don't need to make negative or disparaging comments at every single ****ing turn. Everyone has been told to just lighten up a little because it's already bad enough. Don't drag down the threads ... we have a myriad of other threads that are highlighting the woes of this team, and it's well-deserved highlighting, imo. But geez ... lighten up already. And let the rest of us try to have a little fun at a game.

    I think the point is who needs Jack when we have a few here who subject us to that game after game. We've given it some lenience, because, well ... But the worst of it will no longer be tolerated.

    Game threads aren't for hating and meanness and name calling, either. Lighten up just a bit.

    I love the threat that is Buxton's speed. Anyone else I don't think Smyley fumbles that because he knows he has a bit more time.

    I don't really want to cheer for either the White Sox or the Cubs, and I won't, but I really would like to see (and live through) an all-Chicago WS ... with the White Sox winning. I think I've said this elsewhere, but I'll not be wandering far from home during these games if they come to pass.
