  1. Maybe he'll think yesterday is today and go nude. But I really hope not, for all our sakes.
  2. I almost edited that phrase so it would be ... er ... correct ... glad I didn't or your post wouldn't have made sense. Plus then it isn't really a Brian thing.
  3. The arrest would be for the pain and suffering you caused the rest of us.
  4. Well, since they're in Texas, and stars is the theme, and Texas is the Lone-Star State ... during the 7th inning stretch ... or at some point, I can't remember ... the crowd sings 'Deep in the Heart of Texas.' It's their thing, like singing 'Lights' out in SF at ATT Park there. Anyway ... the first line of 'Deep in the Heart of Texas' is ... 'The stars at night, are big and bright ...' It'll be a starry, starry night tonight.
  5. You know, Craig, I'm disappointed in you. After reading Brian's intro I thought to myself, "Craig will have something interesting to say about stars" and then you posted that. I was expecting some real astrological find there! Patrick Stewart is awesome ... I've actually met him ... but this is not what I expected from you!
  6. I have the MLB package, and I'm not local. And one is all they get this inning.
  7. He hit a DP type hit, but they didn't get him at 1st so run scores.
  8. Bases loaded ... one out ... Kepler up ...
  9. And a lead-off walk to start the game ...
  10. Yeah, unfortunately that doesn't help me when the Sox play the Twins at Target.
  11. And maybe I love my job that much, or enough, that it isn't a better way to spend my time. Just sayin' ...
  12. So, word on the street is ... and, literally, I heard it on the street as a couple of people in front of me were talking about going to the Sox game tonight ... that it's Polish Night at the Cell tonight ... they'll be serving perogis and potato pancakes!!! Now ... if I weren't working tonight, knowing that might have changed my mind about going to the game. I didn't bother to switch my work schedule around because, well, it's miserable enough watching these games on TV, I didn't really want to be surrounded by chiding Sox fans and be more miserable in person. But man ... a night with perogis????? That might have been a draw for me.
  13. I have a friend who answers and speaks German to them. If I'm caught off-guard and answer the rare call, I usually just say, "She's not here right now" when they ask for me. And on some days, there could be truth in that.
  14. Unless I know the number or name, I just don't answer the phone. And by never answering, I get a LOT fewer calls from telemarketers. I'd give up the landline altogether except that conversing with my hard-of-hearing parents is much better from a landline.
  15. It's like that in Florida, too. You can't go out to dinner without a sweater or shawl or something. Just ... too cold.
  16. There was probably a point in his career that he makes it into second. Some of us older folks aren't always good at acknowledging our aging ways.
  17. When it hits the mid 80s or is extremely humid, I turn on the AC. Otherwise it's the open windows. I didn't have or used AC until I moved to Chicago 16 yrs ago. I don't like 'fake air' blowing on me.
