    I agree with this. Bring him up in September and let him hit against MLB pitchers. I feel the Twins are going to be in a much better position next year if Buxton does struggle out of the gate. They can easily send him back down to AAA or wherever and go with an outfield of Rosario, Cave and Kepler. The Twins also have some prospects at both AA and AAA they could bring up in a pinch to get them some at bats. AAA: Wade and Granite AA: Rooker, Wiel and Davis

    There was only one person on base and two outs. I could totally understand taking him out if Molitor was going to bring in a left to get the final out but he didn't. He brought in May who gave up a pretty hard hit out to center field. Zero reason to take Stewart out in that situation if you're going to bring in another righty.

    I don’t like how Molitor pulled Stewart with two outs. This is a lost season and Stewart was pitching better than he had in any other start. Let him try and get out of the inning.

    They have done a good job in the two drafts and trading players away, who won't be on the team moving forward, for prospects. The Twins farm system is in the top 10 and some consider it in the top 5. They definitely swung and missed on a number of free agents this past season, but at least they didn't lock any of them up long term. They have set themselves up quite nicely for this offseason because they have a ton of money they can spend. I doubt they will match what they spent this year but they should still be in the $120M range - hopefully more. It's tough to give them an overall grade just yet because the on the field product has lacked. I completely agree with Vanimal that this is a very big offseason for them. How do they read the team this year? Was this a fluky season where a bunch of stuff went wrong and they try to add top talent or do they think the Twins are still a few seasons away and they keep building with some smaller deals?

    Seth I appreciate how you almost always see the positive in a situation no matter how things are going. I guess for me it has become frustrating not being able to watch a Minnesota sports franchise win a championship.

    Maybe it was a bit harsh but it doesn't change the fact that he's been bad this year. I'm not rooting for him to be bad and in fact I would love it if he turned out to be a great pitcher. I'm just stating the obvious and if the Twins want to take the necessary steps forward players like Magill shouldn't see the field. At least not for extended periods of time. Sure he strikes out roughly a batter per inning but that's really the only thing he has going for him. To take the next step the Twins are going to need at least 1 more shut down BP piece and realistically 2 to go with Rogers, May and Hildy. Edit: Maybe it's fine the Twins have given him a good look this year since it's basically a lost season but he isn't someone I would want as a main bullpen piece going into next season if the Twins are serious about contending. Maybe if he's the 25th man and the FO is willing to drop him if he isn't performing or there is someone better coming up from the minors.

    If the Twins want to make a serious run in the playoffs players like Magill shouldn't see the field. He has no place on a championship team.

    I hope Joe comes back for one more season. The Twins could definitely use him as a platoon 1B / bench bat. It would be nice to see him have one more chance to make it to the post season next year.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't think the Pitcher could be on the mound at all, let alone about to step on the rubber, if he didn't have the baseball???

    ***Just a suggestion for an upcoming topic for the Round Table - But who would each of you pick to represent the Twins in the AFL?*** I'd love to see Gonsalves get a promotion and even if it's just a start or two. Let him get his feet wet. I'd assume Romero will be on an innings limit and I don't want to see him coming out of the bullpen with him having such a strong season and legit chance to start next season with the Twins. Would Rooker needed to be added to the 40 man / would that effect his number of options if he was called up in September? I'd like to see what Tyler Austin could do since he would be a good platoon with Mauer next season. Mauer faces only RH pitchers and Austin LH pitchers. If healthy I'd like to see what Pineda could do even if it's just out of the bullpen. ** Edit - I know Pineda isn't a prospect but it would be interesting to see him in September.

    If Lewis plays the rest of the season at High A like he has I could see him starting next season at AA. Playing half the season there, and if excelling, moving up to AAA for the remainder of the season - maybe getting a September call up. Then starting 2020 with the Twins as their starting SS. I think moving him any faster than that would be a disservice to his development.

    A super utility player typically describes a player who can play multiple positions both in the infield and outfield.

    This offseason I hope the Twins sign Escobar to a 3 / 4 year deal, which would take him through his age 32 / 33 season. He could easily be the Twins 2nd Basemen for the next 2 - 3 seasons until Royce Lewis is ready for SS and he pushes Polanco to 2nd. After that he could just be a utility player at that point.

    The Twins rotation next year looks like it will have a lot of competition with Berrios, Romero, Gibson and Odorizzi. Potential starters: Santana (Depending if they pick up his option or just resign him), Pineda, Mejia, Gonsalves and Littell. Then you have Lewis Thorpe who should be moving up to AAA and Brusdar Gaterol in AA. This is very exciting!!

    So the Twins got two more outfielder and RHP who currently has a WHIP of 1.50..... Sounds like a terrible trade. The Twins don't need more OF.

    The Twins would have to get quite the return if they're going to trade both players.

    I feel like the Twins would have to be blown away to trade Gibson. On a contending team he's a solid 3/4 in a rotation and he's already locked in for one more season. The only way I trade him is for a pitcher who is already at AA or higher, is pitching well and has a high floor / good ceiling.

    I'm a little confused by this. The top three in the Twins system (Lewis, Kiriloff, Graterol) have the chance to be elite players and have as much upside as anyone in the game. If these three continue to have the success they're currently having for the rest of the season all three might end up being in the top 35 by season's end. This would be incredible considering on average each baseball teams should have 3.33 prospects in the top 100 and the Twins might have 3 in the top 35.

    The Twins need to be sellers unless by the deadline they're within 4 or 5 games and actually playing good baseball. They need to hope Dozier starts to heat up so he has trade value at the deadline.
