  1. Sorry Seth . I saw their stat line and said holy smokes
  2. The Chattanooga Lookouts had to have had one of the most productive offensive months of any minor league trio in history. Kepler, Walker and the now departed Sano put on a show last month. Each prospect had an OPS over 1.000. That is special for one player on your team, not to mention 3 players. WALKER .316 AVG; 30 HITS; 18 RUNS; 7 2B; 1 3B; 11 HRS; 72 TB; 19 XBH; 28 RBI; .371 OBP; .758 SLG; 1.129 OPS; SANO .329 AVG; 26 HITS; 23 RUNS; 8 2B; 0 3B; 6 HRS; 52 TB; 14 XBH; 17 RBI; .432 OBP; .658 SLG; 1.090 OPS; KEPLER .364 AVG; 32 HITS; 14 RUNS; 6 2B; 5 3B; 1 HRS; 51 TB; 12 XBH; 17 RBI; .472 OBP; .580 SLG; 1.052 OPS; Does anyone recall the last Twins trio to have such a stat line and / or OPS over 1.000+?
  3. Such amazing differentials with Ks & production. I have to say just maybe with Walker. This is not a fluke season.
  4. In addition - ABW (#1 BEST in SL - HRs - RBI - XBH - TB - SLG%) (#2 in Runs Scored) (#3 in OPS) (#5 in Doubles) For the record - Walker has more BB than Jorge Polanco (just saying). Who am I? I can not earn a BB for the life of me, but I score more than everyone in the SL not named Miguel Sano. Oh yeah and I do that consistently every year. We don't need him to be the BEST in baseball when he gets to the MLB his first year. I will take Walker with a 25% drop off in production though. Still places him better statistically than every current Twin in terms of production. To the topic subject - Miguel has more upside based on position worth. Walker is the better athlete IMO and should stay so further into career.
  5. Sano is on fire right now and might not be a bad filler at DH for the KC series or until he regresses. Give him a taste to build his hunger and commitment to defense. He will do whatever it takes to stay or get back to the real big boys. Truly nothing to lose.
  6. Agreed HR Derby Champ at All Star Game 1 - 5 with 2 runs scored in AS Game 1st game of 2nd half - 2-4 with 2 run HR (20) .923 OPS in 2015
  7. Glad to see each of the Lookout All Stars do what they do best. Sano needs to play defense like that every game. He will be that SUPER STAR for sure. Polanco can just hit. Kepler did a masterful job of getting on base via the BB and took some decent swings. Walker could have easily had 3 hits, but was denied on a couple of bang bang plays. He totaled more home runs than the entire home run derby participants COMBINED. Berrios was La Machine. Baxendale threw something like 6 to 8 pitches to get out of his inning (masterful). Zach Jones showed why he should be the closer of the future (2 up & 2 down). Chattanooga was well represented. It was fun watching our guys on TV and listening to all the high praise for each.
  8. Trade Santana to Phillies along with a marginal top prospect (Duffy; or Jones; or Bard) and get Hamels. You can then use Hamels in the playoffs (thinking big) and would only increase your budget slightly.
  9. This would help Twins playoff push and Brewers rebuilding movement Aramis Rameriz (last year contract - solid 3B until Sano / or DH) Jonathan LuCroy (have a few years to work out extension) Victor Roache (former #1 draft pick OF) Jed Bradley (former #1 draft pick P) Francisco Rodriguez (just for playoff run) Dustin DeMuth (3B - Twins drafted him in 2013) for Oswaldo Arcia (brother Orlando (SS) is Brewers #1 prospect) Trevor Plouffe (3rd baseman of the future & Brauns close friend) Brandon Peterson (2016 relief help for bull pen) Tyler Duffy (possible 2016 bullpen or rotation help) Adam Brett Walker (hometown kid w/1B or OF capabilities) Danny Santana (perfect utility IF/OF) Alex Meyers (possible starter or replaces Rodriguez) None of these guys is a definite corner piece for Twins, so why not get your catcher of the future and a couple more playoff pieces for 2015.
  10. Only Twin Prospect voted Mid-season, Post-season, and Organizational All Star in last 2 1/2 years. Just making a point. Point being - League managers and Twins front office personnel respect his overall game based on production. Production is what carries All Star teams at every level and even Hall of Fame votings. Please don't jump on the Hall of Fame part. Just making a point. Point being - PRODUCTION DOES MATTER Walkers production has been an organizational best for years. His AA start is his best to date. Every point on this thread is about what he probably won't be able to do at the next level. Just making a point. Point being - If you see a UFO, is it really a UFO? If you don't believe in UFO's, the answer will be No regardless to what you see. Walkers is that UFO and regardless to what you see (production) - He does leave room for reasonable doubt. For me - I'm going to trust my eyes and his production consistency.
  11. I believe that Walker will improve in time. Walker has moved up a level at the end of each year without the familiarity of knowing a league coming in. Walker has never earned a promotion mid season nor been able to draw back from his familiarity of a league to improve in the off season. Walker and a few of his teammates have had to learn a league from April to July and watch the better pitchers in the league leave mid season - Thus having to learn the league again as they greet an influx of new pitchers across the league. When Walker finally makes it to the Show, I will be more excited to see what he does in his second and third year after he gets to know / learn his final level. What he does best is win. He and his teammates won with the Buxton's and Polanco's on their team and they won without the Buxton's and Polanco's on their team. I wouldn't be afraid to try him this year (MLB) and ride his potential until he falters. He has to be use to people doubting him his whole career. Doubters don't seem to stop this kid from doing his thing and doing it well. I believe Walker will prevail long term. Like Bruno Mars says - "Don't Believe Me Just Watch"
  12. Vargas did ok last year and when he got exposed this year they shipped him back down. Correct. He's back in the Bigs though after a short short time back in AAA. As was said by someone else - Colabello struggled and had to go elsewhere to figure it out because no one was willing to work through the growing pains of the MLB with him. Prospects do sometimes learn to improve, just not always at our (fans) impatient pace.
  13. Walker hit an off speed pitch yesterday over a 24 foot wall that has not landed yet. Unique is a good word for him.
  14. He's not slumping, just cooling off. He still has that sweet swing which will continue to spray balls in the alleys. Better to cool off when you're hitting .348 and regain your form, than when you were hitting .275 and fall off. Kepler will hit. Like Polanco his swing is tight and right.
  15. Excellent read and nice photos in gallery
  16. Vargas essentially came up from AA last year. Why not do the same with Polanco? He can really rake.
  17. Bring up the guy who has 30 extra base hits already. As posted above - He has more HR (6) to right field than any Left Handed hitter in the system this year. That includes the Twins.
  18. Doesn't he have more Power potential than at least 2 of those guys and a better overall athlete than all 3? He was also drafted after playing 1B in college (all american). Thus, there is some flexibility (positionally).
  19. ABW leads the Twins minor league and the entire minor leagues in homers. When is the last time the Twins had that happen.
  20. ABW is tied for minor league lead in home runs with Jon Singleton @ 14. http://www.wdef.com/content/sports/localsports/story/Adam-Brett-Walker-Slams-Two-Homers-But-Lookouts/vL0xJdNTMEGy0IpwT2C7mw.cspx outfielder barely moved
  21. How many Lookouts have a chance to play in the MLB? Probability? Example: Joe Mauer - 100% D.J. Baxendale - Jose Berrios - Madison Boer - Nick Burdi - Dallas Gallant - David Hurlbut - Cole Johnson - D.J. Johnson - Zack Jones - Greg Peavey - Jake Reed - Adrian Salcedo (suspended) - Tim Shibuya - Alex Wimmers - Carlos Paulino - Jairo Rodriguez - Stuart Turner - Mike Gonzales - Dalton Hicks - Heiker Meneses - Levi Michael - Jorge Polanco - Miguel Sano - Stephen Wickens - Byron Buxton - Travis Harrison - Max Kepler - Adam Brett Walker II -
  22. You are right. The thread does ask for this discussion. I guess I'm just happy that we have a team dynamic that is a winning one right now. I can just see these types of questions being asked by media as well. That's all. We have been bad for soooo long that I want to spin things to feed the positive. Like: "Torii has been much better than we imagined out there. He is making the plays he is supposed to make and giving us what we hoped for offensively as well." I think he is an asset to the team actually. Overall IMO -- Shouldn't stop others from feeding to the conversation however, and for that you are right. There are only so many Mike Trouts out there (great at everything). Oh yeah - we have a better record than Trouts team too. Actually playoff bound if season ended today. Those are the Metrics I'm talking about! "TORRI'S PLAYOFF METRICS" - How his teams seem to find themselves into the playoffs every year?
  23. Can't we just enjoy the ride? Would hate to take you guys to the amusement park. What do your eyes tell you? Do you have to be top 10 at everything or you suck? Is it ok to be average at any part of your game as a player? Hunter is doing a decent job out there. Nothing special and nothing terrible. He adds to our team as a COMPLETE PLAYER. Enjoy the ride folks and stop looking for the negative. Find something positive to talk about and actually enjoy talking about it.
  24. I watched the Lookouts this weekend and was very impressed with the overall talent there. Though they struggled offensively in a couple of games, they still played with a presence of confidence. Kepler played OF once and looked solid., Boy can he swing that bat. Incredible hitting series. He was the best player on the field during this series at the plate. Buxton squared the ball up several times and I can't imagine anyone in baseball running faster than him. He can fly. He didn't attempt to steal bases as much as I thought he might. Harrison was decent in the OF defensively, but seemed to be a better bat. He hit around shifts and drives the ball all around the field. A Doubles machine. Walker really struggled offensively, but seemed to be a lot more disciplined with his zone. He took a few BB & was called out looking several times on some questionable called strikes. Most of them on 3-2 counts. He didn't routinely chase pitches like I was told. CHEMISTRY & COMMUNICATION This group of outfielders seem to play with a chemistry on defense. They cover for each other well and communicate clearly (knock on wood). Buxton tracked down several balls that would have been extras if it were anyone else out there. Walker made two outstanding plays. One game ending catch high against the wall in LF and the other was a leaping catch that only a 6'4" athlete could have made. His vertical looks comfortable and with purpose. Harrison made some nice diving attempts during the series, but came up short on most of them. He does have the right mentality for the position. Kepler played 1B most of the series, but you could see his athleticism as he turned singles into doubles. The future is bright for the Twins OF. Loved watching these kids enjoy the game with each other. No one big times anyone. They just love winning and it shows. Also impressive for a future Twins OF: *Buxton leads entire minors in triples (9) - 18 of 39 hits are XBH (46%) *Walker leads all of AA in homers (10) - 19 of 34 hits are XBH (55%) *Harrison leads Southern League in doubles (14) - 16 of 38 hits are XBH (42%) *Kepler is top hitter on Lookouts thru May - 13 of 32 hits are XBH (41%)
