  1. Would love to know what his teammates and coaches think on that subject? Truly. If someone could find a way to word it to get a true response from the likes of Dougie Baseball; Chad Allen; Jake Mauer; Tommy Watkins; Jim Dwyer; Buxton; Polanco; Kepler; Sano; Turner; all the pitchers; etc. etc. - It would be nice to know his value in the eyes of his everyday family. That's really what matters.
  2. I can see the Brewers going for a trade for Plouffe; Duffy or May and Walker. The Brewers need a third baseman and first baseman if they are thinking of getting rid of Lind too. Ploufe would be a major upgrade at 3rd for the Brewer and is close friends with Braun. Walker (a Milwaukee native) might have a ways to go but was a second team All American at 1st base in college. His power could play well in Milwaukee for a young team like the Brewers. The Brewers are desperate for starting pitching and Duffy or May would be exactly what the Brewers are looking for. Plouffe and Walker could become serious HR threats in the launching pad called Miller Park IMO. I'm sure the Twins could sweeten it with 1 of their less favorable relievers as the Brewers need them too. Bottom line: Lucroy is the next step to the Twins getting thru the playoffs and not just to it. He's a middle of the order bat that demands respect.
  3. Counting the rainout - ABW is 3 for last 6 ABs with single; double; home run; and 3 Ks. .429 OBP (small sample size) Based on Gameday graphics - He is receiving many below the zone called strikes. Not particularly good sign for a guy trying to lay off the low stuff - Lol.
  4. The guy was the best in AA in HRs and RBI and Strikeouts. With 2 out of 3 being on the better half, I'd say he's worth protecting. Just think this way: If a guy who averages 28 and 103 can figure it out just a little - WOW - What would you have on your hands? He's not just some dude. I can picture a flawed 35 and 120 some day.
  5. Still - Averaging 28 HRs and 103 RBI as a minor league prospect over 3 years ain't bad. Pass on him if you want - But SANE is right - Some hitting coach will make him a MLB regular. I'm anxious to see him in AFL. He runs well and fields well enough to play in the OF. Ryan and Molitor both made comment to that. How many people knew he had 36 Stolen Bases in 45 attempts (80% success rate). He is a big man, but not to be confused with a lumbering big man. He might also have the best vertical on the Lookouts at 6'5 230 lbs. He will be on someones 40 man
  6. I would love to hear from Walker and what he is being told from FO about overall game and improvements needed. How he felt about season and what he is hoping to accomplish in AFL? Same for Turner? Also love to hear from Melotakis and Bard about their feelings about past year and upcoming season goals? For my fifth player, I would like to hear from Goodrum and whether he feels like movement to another team is probably in his best interest moving forward? The main question I would like to know is whether the Twins talk to them / players specifically about expectations for upcoming seasons? Do players have system goals set for each player going into Spring? Or is it just go be professional and we will let you know if we like what you're doing?
  7. Do the AFL guys go to instructionals as well before they leave for AFL?
  8. http://m.milb.com/news/article/20150911148667888/astros_reed_wins_2015_bauman_award Walker Wins AA Home Run Crown Trivia :Who was the last Twins to do so?
  9. Rosario will be just fine. I find it funny that people always talk about pitchers making adjustments to hitters because they've found their flaw. What are hitting coaches getting paid for? Don't they help hitters find flaws in pitchers as well. Can't hitters grow in their capacity as hitters. It might be easier for a pitcher to adjust, but damn, I never hear people talking about how they expect a certain hitter should improve in his second year. Rosario is a hitter and will be fine. Am I the only one who thinks this way: [Picture this] Batter is about to come to the plate with dangerous power and the pitching coach comes to the mound to explain how to pitch to the young slugger. Meanwhile the said batter stands near the plate wondering what might be the new strategy? The hitting coaches never call the kid over and say BLAH BLAH BLAH and expect them to attack BLAH BLAH BLAH. In baseball it's always "figure it out", never a plan within the plan from the coaches? At least it appears that way on TV or when I go to games. Kids just stand near the plate during pitching changes and wonder who is coming in or what is the new approach from the pitcher based on mound visit. They never show coaches talking to players like in basketball or football about strategy. Not even on camera. Am I wrong?
  10. Never argued that Kepler was a better prospect. I was talking the ability to hit the first pinch hit HR of the year for the Twins. Walker who hit his 30th tonight has a better chance than Kepler - That's all I'm saying. And as far as all or nothing - let's not forget the 30 doubles ABW hit this year. Talk about who in the system has put themselves in scoring position most often than anyone else? 64 extra base hits is Dozier territory. He's not Dozier, but those 64 XBH are Dozier like.............
  11. ABW II - WORTH A FLYER FOR 1 MONTH MR. CONSISTENCY & MR. DURABLE 2013 - 27 HRs and 109 RBI - 31 Doubles 2014 - 25 HRs and 95 RBI - 19 Doubles 2015 - 29 HRs and 101 RBI - 30 Doubles Averaging 10 stolen bases per season Averaging 77 runs scored per season Averaging .232 for his ISO Averaging 122 for his wRC+ Averaging 360 for his wOBA Averaging 131 games per season
  12. I think Wilkerson was taken out for multiple reasons. They brought in a 5th infielder to stop the winning run from scoring and he was probably a little shaken up. I think he's OK by the way he jogged off. I hope Walker can get that 1 more HR. 30 doubles and 30 home runs is a nice season. He also tied the Chattanooga Lookouts RBI single season record at 101. I'm sure his 62 XBH are a club record too. Congrats ABW
  13. I think Kepler deserves a shot because he is on the 40 man and has played exceptionally well this season. That being said - How your minor league season went is no indication as to how your MLB season will go. Sano is playing better in the MLB than he did in Chattanooga and Buxton was just hitting .400+ in AAA before his MLB struggles. All these call ups should be for a reason, as to what they think a particular prospect can bring to the table during their playoff push. Kepler certainly doesn't hurt their already dreadful pinch hitting resume and his being on the 40 man makes that much more sense. You never know which rookie makes you better, you only know each: "Have a particular set of skills". As for my call ups in a few weeks - Kepler would be "Taken"
  14. For the record: Walker is hitting .381 when the games are Close/Late this year in 42 ABs. He has 16 hits with a .429 OBP. [This is based on his MiLB splits]. That has pinch hitter written all over it. That includes 4 HRs and 12 RBI in those close encounters. In his 2 previous seasons - Walker had 6 Grand Slams. That has pinch hitter written all over it. Walker has HRs against Mike Pelfrey; Trevor May; Matt Barnes (Boston); another Boston Pitcher in 7 spring training games. He also has two doubles - one off Tanaka of the Yankees and one off another Boston pitcher within those 6 games. That is 4 HRs and 2 doubles against MLB present day pitchers. Spring Training or not - That has pinch hitter written all over it. I tend to agree with TNLooky. Nothing to lose. Again - No other prospect can say they hit 4 HRs in thier spring training call ups. Just saying...............Things I'm sure people never noticed about Walker.........................
  15. I agree with your theory regarding evaluators. Note: Although there are no German baseball players in the MLB, there are no players from Milwaukee, WI (30th largest city in USA) either in the MLB and Milwaukee is in the USA. Not exactly the hotbed for future baseball players there. There have only been 2 players period, from Milwaukee, WI to debut in the MLB this century. On top of that Walker could will be the first African American player ever to come out of Milwaukee, WI. In a joking way, Walker has been a long shot to start just like Kepler. An underdog is an underdog.......... http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/birthplace.php?order=Birthplace&loc=Wisconsin
  16. Just kidding. Tell USA Today - They selected Walker (a Twins Prospect), I voted for Walker because I appreciate what he brings to the table. I also look to who would have had the biggest negative impact on the Lookouts, if they were not in the line up during the first half, of their playoff clinching, surge? That would have been with Sano and Buxton there too? I say Walker was probably the unanimous 1st half MVP of the entire Southern League. Walker had two horrible months in July and August and still leads the league in XBHs; TB; HRs; and RBI. He is the only league player with 15+ HRs and double digit stolen bases. He has 4 less doubles than Kepler and 3 less runs scored. And he has been durable as hell (knock on wood), which should be rewarded at some point. Being second in minor league baseball in HRs and RBI is special. You might find a guy here and there who had that kind of success and failed, but NO, the minor leagues are not filled with players who have led their respective leagues in both HRs and RBI for 3 consecutive seasons and by the age of 23. What Walker has done is special and it's nice to see him appreciated for his accomplishments. #Vote Walker
  17. Max is having an awesome season and should get that September Call Up. I would love for someone to ask the Rookies in MN now (Rosario; Sano; Buxton; & Duffy;) , who they think is next in line for a promotion based on what they've seen as former teammates. What former teammate has impressed you the most, who isn't in MN right now? I think that is a great question for a reporter to ask IMO.
  18. USA TODAY has named Adam Brett Walker II amongst the Five Finalist for Minor League National Player of the Year Honors. Walker leads Double AA in HRs; RBI; TB; and XBHs; Walker also just broke the Chattanooga Lookouts single season home run record 2 days ago and is 1 RBI shy of breaking their single season record in that category. Sitting at 29 HR and 100 RBI as of today, Walker has a chance for the Bauman Award for the minor league top home run hitter. Twins nation needs to vote early and often for their very own. VOTE for ADAM BRETT WALKER II http://usat.ly/1WUJ3o3

  21. Congrats to Adam Brett Walker (ABW) on tying the Chattanooga Lookout HR season record. He is also 1 RBI shy of 100 for the season. ABW II is averaging the following numbers in 3 Full Seasons: 27 HRs 26 Doubles 4 Triples 56 XBH 101 RBI 76 Runs 240 Total Bases 10 Stolen Bases (79% success rate) Hoping he and the Lookouts can get hot over the next 15 games for this upcoming playoff run.
  22. I'm a big Niko Goodrum fan. Twins better not slip up and miss out on this kids potential. He is a much better SS than Polanco. Polanco is just a better hitter. Best arm of all the prospect infielders.
  23. When does the Arizona Fall list become public? I thought it was around this time in August.
