  1. I don't see any way they trade Moreno, but definitely think the Blue Jays are who to get a deal done with. i went with Jansen in my blueprint.
  2. Just a hair under budget. I did adjust arb figures to match mlbtraderumors. A vet RP was a must and if not Robertson then a reunion with Rogers perhaps? Would cost a little more but wouldn't be budget breaking. I very much considered Edwin Diaz here but I don't think the Twins would go big here. Jansen and Biggio picked up in a trade with TOR, with Jansen getting around a 50/50 split with Jeffers and some DH AB's on rest days for others moving Miranda into the field. TOR definitely could look to move him with Kirk and Moreno both ready. ? Ryan Jeffers ($0.70M) 1B: Luis Arraez ($4.50M) 2B: Jorge Polanco ($7.50M) 3B: Gio Urshela ($9.20M) SS: Carlos Correa ($33.00M) LF: Alex Kirilloff ($0.70M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.00M) RF: Max Kepler ($8.50M) DH: Jose Miranda ($0.70M) 4th OF: Trevor Larnach ($0.70M) Utility: Nick Gordon ($0.70M) Utility: Cavan Biggio ($2.60M) Backup ? Danny Jansen ($3.70M) SP1: Sonny Gray ($12.00M) SP2: Tyler Mahle ($7.20M) SP3: Kenta Maeda ($9.00M) SP4: Joe Ryan ($0.70M) SP5: Bailey Ober ($0.70M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Lopez ($3.70M) RP: Griffin Jax ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($0.80M) RP: Caleb Thielbar ($2.40M) RP: Jovani Moran ($0.70M) RP: Josh Winder ($0.70M) RP: David Robertson ($5.00M) Payroll is 5.86% under budget
  3. Can't do that since 13 is the limit for pitchers.
  4. I saw the first half and then went to the Twins game. I'm cautiously optimistic about this team. Been let down too many times. I think every game is winnable.
  5. Sanchez would have been starting on 3 days rest so no chance they would have done that. As far as a 40 man move they haven't officially announced the transaction so they also have to send a pitcher down from the 28 man. I'm guessing the moves happen on Wednesday.
  6. Wouldn't this be a similar situation to the Twins trading Correa? Yes the Twins are in first and the Giants are not but signing a FA then trading them midseason? And yes I get that Rodon is not the superstar Correa is.
  7. Expand the rosters to 30 players, 16 pitcher limit. 26 players eligible for the days game. SO make the other 4 SP inactive and that leaves 12 pitchers available on the day of the game. I can't believe I said that. No team should ever need more than 3-4 pitchers in a nine inning game.
  8. Let's go one step more with the Angels. they also have Michael Lorenzen, who has played some OF so they could actually go with 15 on any given day.
  9. As someone who went through COVID hell I can tell you that the vaccine might not work for everyone. I was fully vaccinated (2 shots at the time) and I still got it, in the words of the doctor at the hospital, "Worse than anyone I've seen that's been vaccinated." 2 weeks in the hospital. I got them because I felt it was the right thing to do. But i can't help but think it was a mistake. Even after I went through hell my mindset didn't change. Personal choice. So i have no issue with any athlete or anyone choosing not to be vaccinated.
  10. He's only 20 years old. Patience.
  11. No way MLB will let it happen. They're not going to end MLB.TV or Extra Innings and lose all that money.
  12. His manager last year happens to be the Twins bench coach.
  13. The Dodgers don't need to replace Seager at SS as they have Trea Turner to move back to his best position.
  14. Keep Sauce. If for some reason in the future he can't remain a catcher you can use him at 1B and DH. The power is there so he'd be fine.
  15. I'd be fine with Taylor at SS until Lewis or Martin is ready. He can also be the backup to Buxton in CF right now, leaving Kepler in RF most of the time, and play some in LF and RF. I'd rather have him as that 4th OF than Celestino who needs to play everyday. He's a proven OF on top of MI. Or if you get someone else to play SS you can use him all over. Most of all this would leave Polanco at 2B nearly everyday.
  16. CLE, DET, or KC could have been that team as well. As I said in my post above CHI cosated because they had no competition.
  17. The White Sox are being exposed in this series. Breaking it down to how they did vs playoff teams (13-19): HOU 2-5 BOS 4-3 Mil 1-2 NYY 1-5 STL 2-1 TB 3-3 They beat up on just 5 teams (20-8): BAL 7-0 MIN 13-6 CHI (N) 5-1 TEX 5-1 DET 12-7 They were on 39-34 in the 2nd half. 18-24 in one run games. Jusr 16-13 in SEP/OCT. They were an average team that beat up on a few bad teams. They coasted down the stretch. Had there been another team challenging them in the division they may not have been able to hlpd them off.
  18. Rocco said on the pregame show that it doesn't always need to be staff to get involved with these kind of discussions. And he's right. Donaldson is a veteran and I have no problem with how he handled it in the dugout.
  19. This is the same point I was going to make after reading the comments here. I'll add that I think even with all the injuries they've had Baddoo would still be in Wichita right now.
  20. If you come to a fork in the road take it.

    1. Brock Beauchamp

      Brock Beauchamp

Yes. I'm always in need of additional cutlery.

  21. Neither has options so they had no choice unless they kept one on the MLB roster.
  22. My two cents here is I'd rather have Rooker playing everyday in AAA than one or two times a week in the majors. Also makes more sense to keep Willians on the roster because he could go a week without getting into a game and be fine. Not sure you could say that about Rooker or Kiriloff.
  23. i believe in order to do that he'd have to be put on the 40 man roster and then the IL.
  24. Of course the White Sox are going all in LaRussa is on a limited time frame.
