  1. My wife was born in and grew up in Ames. Her parents still live there. Her dad is a retired ISU aerospace engineering professor. We all await your apology.
  2. If it's for safety you'd want the ladder to lead out of the stadium, not into it.
  3. Moreover, I'm sure it would be easy to design a removable ladder. There's no excuse.
  4. If a new stadium were designed with a ladder like that it would be considered a travesty, an unacceptable gimmick. But Fenway lovers probably consider it a lovable quirk. Just another example of how most people way overrate Fenway as a baseball stadium.
  5. I know this thread is about wish lists, not reality. And in this case it's way not reality. I'm 99.9% sure that Target Field can not be roofed.
  6. Winner winner chicken breakfast.
  7. Interestingly I don't like whiskey. But Manhattans are Mmm Mmm Good. I prefer Canadian whiskey for my Manhattans because it's a lighter flavor.
  8. This is the only proper way to enjoy a Manhattan.
  9. I don't know about you, but I'd much rather play baseball than football.
  10. A bad Wisconsin brat is probably better than a good brat from any of the other 49. Although I'll say Kramarczuk can stand up to anyone anywhere.
  11. Very interesting thought, but keep in mind it's difficult to make a good selection on an 18 year old US citizen. Making a good decision on a 16 year old Dominican (or Venezuelan or wherever) is no easier.
  12. Which 4?
  13. At this point, it seems like a long-shot for him to make an appearance in the future.
  14. What's more difficult to measure is how good of a baserunner a player is. TK once said that Kent Hrbek was a very good baserunner, and I'm sure what he meant by that was that Hrbek could read batted balls well and could judge well whether he'd be able to take an extra base in any given situation. Of course there was that pickoff at second base in the 1987 WS... And when it comes to stolen bases knowing how large of a lead to take and when to make the move are critical skills to possess. Speed can compensate for deficiencies there but only to a limited extent.
  15. I hope to visit many parks that I have yet to see. Of these I've been only to Target Field and Fenway and I can see how those would make someone's top 5. Same with PNC and Kauffman. From what I've seen, what I've heard and what I've read I'm surprised to see Miller Park on your list. A friend of mine who attended a game there said he felt like he was sitting in a giant coffee can. But to each his or her own.
  16. Well, certainly not that yellow snow.
  17. I may be totally wrong but I'm a dancing fool.
  18. Man, it was almost 7 AM CDT before this was posted. I was starting to worry.
  19. Interesting and significant point, although I don't know the amount in dollars. In any case the victim concerning this aspect is the State of Minnesota (and its taxpayers).
  20. The last game of the regular season is on Oct. 1.
  21. Cleveland broadcasters talking about the inconsistent scoring. That's almost exactly the same type of play as earlier in the game when Cleveland took an extra base on a misplayed cutoff throw. Kepler got an error on that one but no error on the one where Rosario scored. Stew, are you there?
  22. Well, obviously. That's you in the photo, isn't it?
  23. I've been in and out...of wakefulness.
  24. Don't do it you as... Oops, caught myself just in time.
  25. Two runs for the good guys thanks to two difficult but make-able plays not made by the opposition.
