  1. OK, boys, time for a couple insurance runs.
  2. Chi, does this remind you of a particular hot dish?
  3. Glad you liked it. As a UMD fan I think it actually significantly understates the typical Gophers fan.
  4. Does Sano make that play? And to be fair, does a 22-year old Plouffe make that play?
  5. Keep in mind this is from 3 or 4 years ago.
  6. Since the Frozen Four has been mentioned, this is a must-watch for anyone who loves or hates Gophers Hockey.
  7. http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/uncyclopedia/images/e/ea/A_Rod_purse.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060814062619
  8. In many, if not most, cases there's no anticipation necessary. A runner coming into second base can see if and when he is out. In the case of the Bautista play he knew he was out before he made any move with his left hand. While it's true in cases where the play is close that the player has to begin his slide before being forced out he must do everything he can to avoid the player at the base once he's out.
  9. I'm referencing myself so people don't have to scroll back to find this post. I just don't understand why MLB doesn't simply enforce this rule. It is very clear. No judgement calls about whether another runner would have been safe. No judgement calls about whether the player sliding into second is doing so legally. From the moment a baserunner is out he is not entitled to slide into second. He must effectively disappear.
  10. As to parking, I don't mind paying for the A ramp. If one arrives fairly early, which I like to do anyway, one can find a spot fairly low in the ramp that is close both to the skyway across 7th street and to the exit which goes directly onto 394. For western suburbanites like me it's very slick.
  11. It would be more accurate if they figured for 5 beers.
  12. Not only a premium price per seat but usually a sellout. Gotta preserve the revenue if possible.
  13. So I've been busy and have seen none of the game until the first pitch of the bottom of the ninth. I think I'll go back and read the first 591 comments. Not. Edited: 593.
  14. Keep in mind that football linemen are way over-muscled. For them cutting muscle after their playing years are over is a good thing because their bodies are getting back to normal.
  15. I'm going over with the expectation of 80-85 wins. If the youth movement progresses faster than expected they could hit 90. I don't see the pitching staff getting us any further than that.
  16. Whatever the Braves' line is, I'll take the under. How about you?
  17. Very strongly agree with both of these points.
  18. I'm trying to remember the rule. I think the home team can postpone the game up until game time and after that only the umpires can make that call. From the team's perspective, of course it's mainly about attendance. I believe pretty much every team that does not play in a dome schedules a day off after the home opener to allow for an easy reschedule if need be.
