  1. Bingo. If Rasmus was sliding to be safe he would have started his slide much sooner and there would have been no contact. If you wind up past the base it follows that interfering with any possible subsequent play was the intent, even if it would not have caused injury. Rasmus wound up 5 feet past the base. That's why the call was a good one.
  2. Probably more than that. If 88 wins are needed to be the second wild card that means 88-68.
  3. So you're saying there's a chance.
  4. Agree, but didn't think I should click Like This.
  5. Clicking my not like button.
  6. This. I've seen a lot of tats that I think are very cool, just not any that I think should be on my skin.
  7. Boy, thought Mauer was a going to be a goner at home.
  8. Groucho, Harpo or Chico? Wait, I know the answer: yes.
  9. Those are good pitches. It's a lot like Johan Santana used to get all those swings on pitches that were in the dirt.

  11. Today should be the end of the losing streak. We've got our stopper on the mound.
  12. My guess would be Wednesday.
  13. I wish to amend my statement to say that IMHO almost everyone on this site has highly inflated expectations about what he'll be able to do this season. I'd be (pleasantly) very surprised to see much out of him during this call-up. I think a more realistic projection for him would be that he'll be playing well at the MLB level in 2 or 3 years.
  14. Arcia will never clear waivers. If he leaves the organization it had better be via a trade for someone promising in return.
  15. Like Chief and Vanimal, I don't really follow this. I just now found out about this move so I haven't read any details about Santana's prognosis. If he's going to be out for only the bare 15-day minimum they can probably get by with Nunez as their only backup infielder for now, especially if you figure Sano can play third if a second backup is needed. (At least I think I remember that he has played there, hasn't he?) But if it's longer than that I don't think an outfielder should have been called up, especially since we have Arcia on the roster. That said, of course I hope Kepler does well, but I don't expect anything noteworthy. IMHO almost everyone on this site has highly inflated expectations about him.
  16. What's more unlikely, Suzuki throwing out a base stealer or Suzuki hitting a triple?
  17. Great place for the first one!
  18. If that's really what he said he had it backwards.
  19. To quote Dana Carvey doing GHWB: Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be poodent.
  20. All right. Someone's gotta do it. Who's there?
