  1. well that certainly qualifies him to manage a MLB team
  2. Didn't Kelly and Gardenhire both take other roles immediately?
  3. Mud Hens manager Doug Mientkiewicz said flatly he does not think terms such as ‘spin rate’ or ‘launch angle’ have much use in the day-to-day work he does with his players. “Those terms, for me, are for people who may not see it with their own eyes,” he said. “We try to teach the same things, no matter what the terms are. I’ve never seen a ‘spin rate’ get someone out or a ‘launch angle’ get a base hit.” Do not misunderstand, Mientkiewicz cautioned: He knows there is value in the new analytics. “For me, it helps in evaluating free agents and finding players,” he said. “Everything has a place. “But to me, you have to trust people who can see things with their own eyes.”
  4. Just curious - how many of the managers of this year's playoff teams have strong Spanish skills? No horse in this race - honestly don't know.
  5. Doogie says keep an eye on Brad Mills, Indians bench coach
  6. Looking at the player is two separate pieces is ignorant, at best. Joe Mauer, the composite, the entire player, is a HOF'er.
  7. You don't decide how I spend my money or my time.
  8. I hope Joe Mauer does whatever Joe Mauer wants to do. Whatever he decides I will support him
  9. A lot of you folks should take a year or two off - wait until they start doing well to come back. Many other teams have fans like that - you wouldn't be alone.
  10. I've said this before, but I feel that this upcoming offseason is the reason why this new FO was hired. Everything that they have done up to now is simply prelude to the main event. They have just been setting the table to put their imprint on this team, and the opportunity to do that begins now. They have a lot of work to do as they have so few players under contract for next season, and they have the traditional constraints put on them by ownership. But the 2019 team should be considered their team much moreso than either of the past two seasons’ teams. I am waiting to judge their abilities until I see what happens between now and April 2019. I am not saying they will be successful but it will be very interesting for long-term Twins fans to see how they go about their business.
  11. I am so successful because I never try anything new
  12. Lots of AAAA players will play briefly in the big leagues next year
  13. Would love to see the E-ton middle infield stick together for a long itme.
  14. Nice. According to Miller, Cubs reached out. Twins made the deal to give Wilson a shot at a World Series.
  15. Glad to see Jax get the call
  16. I am confused how this does anything to help anyone who wants to see the Twins compete at the highest levels. Seems more like a recipe for disaster to me. But that's what makes a market, I guess.
  17. Good to see Quezada have another nice outing. If he can minimize the BB he will be one to watch
  18. What I believe is that they were hired spcifically for the upcoming off-season, and that everything they have done up to this point was in preparation for implementing their plan over the next few months.
