  1. He's brutal. This sounds like an average game. Even Provous was bad tonight. I caught the 5th inning and he had Uecker in the booth. They couldn't be interrupted from reminiscing to bother with any play-by-play except Dozier's HR. Herb Carneal and John Gordon both slipped in their final years behind the mike. But they're miles better than what we have now. Truthfully I don't mind Provous normally, but insisting on Gladden doing play-by-play for 3-4 innings ruins it.
  2. Congrats. I haven't read the Pioneer Press much in the last year as their website just doesn't do it for me. Will give them another chance.
  3. It was vintage Eddie. It's no fun unless you escape it like MacGyver.
  4. The Twins never led by less than 2 after the 3rd inning. Yet that was totally nerve-wracking the whole way. Oy. Win's a win.
  5. Come on Perk! What is is with the walks tonight. Geeze.
  6. Glad to see the line-up tonight. And look, runs!
  7. Please Gardy, put Santana or Escobar in the lead-off spot. These games scoring 1 or 0 runs are fun and all, but really, what could it hurt?
  8. Most teams don't have a 1B who's caught 1,000 games to serve as the emergency catcher in the 1/100 chance it's needed. That said, Kubel is close to worthless right now. Hermann or another catcher should have been up a week ago. Yes, Gardy has irrational fear, but that's an not changing. Work around it already.
  9. So we finally shook the line-up up on Friday, scored 6 runs, struggled against the best pitcher in the AL on Saturday and reverted back to the line-up that hasn't been scoring for a month? OK then...
  10. Corriea will be traded or DFA'd by 7/31 and an injury will eventually happen. Both will get their shot to make at least 10 or so starts at the Major League Level in 2014. I wouldn't get too anxious about it yet. The failure to use Pinto and Santana while here is far more disturbing.
  11. A new manager isn't happening at least for 6 weeks. Until then, having Hermann over Kubel or Collabello is of no great consequence and gets Pinto into the lineup.
  12. Kubel is done. It couldn't be more painfully obvious. DFA him and get a 3rd catcher up here so Gardy will play Pinto.
  13. This. Even for those sensitive about eye injuries, the 'Dr. Andrews' part clearly marks it as a joke. Lighten up, Francis.
  14. Well, they do have nukes....
  15. Failed to account for Yankee base running.
  16. A raise? Nah. A 3-year extension? Of course! You can't deny the veteran presence.
  17. Leaving Corriea in about to bite us in the @ss
  18. The umps will let this go on until the Yankees score here, then call the game.
  19. Thanks for the ugly, tolerable 4 innings, KC. See Rob Anthony immediately.
  20. I think we're in uncharted territory with whatever is going on now.
  21. Is it time to invent an injury for Mauer and let him go rehab for a few weeks? Something is wrong.
  22. Mauer just looks pathetic right now.
  23. He doesn't have it. Take him out while you've still got a shot with Swarzak.
  24. Not sure, but I bet we could pry Punto away from the A's for the right price.
  25. I'd like him to pitch well enough that we can get a warm bucket of spit for him on July 20th.
