    Heh... reminds me of a quote from a NHL GM (might even have been Lou), when his team (might even have been the Stars) was going through a patch like this. He said, "Oh yeah, the other GM's are real helpful in times like this. They all want to pluck out your eyeballs and put in grapes." I imagine some other GMs are probably looking at the Twinkies like that now.

    Yep. Those were the days. Made memories happen in all of 'dem places- or rather, made memories go away, I think. Had my mug on the ceiling at Frenchy's too. And the hockey trips- there's probably still a face-print of mine in front of the Plaza in Madison. (Sidebar- it looks about the same as the faceprint in my desk today, from watching Nolasco toil.)

    Btw, for you aviation buffs- that silvery thingy in the middle of the harbor is where the old HK airport was. Now they use it as a cruise-boat dock. But talking to some of the older Cathay guys who used to dive in there in 747s back in the day, whew..... That part of town wasn't allowed to have bulidings over 6 stories then, and I'm sure you could dry your laundry on the roof in about 5 minutes from the jet wash.

    Ahhh, a sunny, lovely morning, and an interesting ride to work. On the top of those double-deckers is when you don't want a driver who behaves like he's in a Lamborghini, dodging between lanes with his no-shock-absorber-having behemoth, and you arrive at work feeling like you just watched "Breaking the Waves" from the front row of an I-Max. But still, it's a pretty day. Don't mess it up, Ricky, and the rest of you boys.

    I seem to remember one of Garrison Keillor's tales about how everybody's tomatoes would come in at the same time, and people would sneak onto each other's porch at night and leave bags of 'em and run. Maybe Twinks tickets are the new, ripe tomatoes. Neighbor, going out to work in the sunny AM: "Dammit! They stuck me with the Diamond-levels again! I'll get 'em back with the Sky-Decks tonight..."

    Not surprised at all. A lotta weird s*** going down in East Grand. Someday, I may entertain the masses with the saga of fleeing from the EGF cops along the muddy river bank when they busted us hopping the coal train to the bars on the Minny side.... Back in the Original Whitey's days.
