  1. Man, the only good thing about this recent stretch is the day games- so the crappy stuff happens when I'm asleep, and I can trick myself into thinking I only dreamed my team has descended to this level of suck. But today- (sorry, tonight)- wow, the Braves suck worse than us, and we have a chance to catch Houston for the AL Toilet Bowl Title. Go, Twinks, Go!
  2. Did you wear the ski mask for both jobs?
  3. There may be an opening soon, in a city near you- stay sharp.
  4. Shouldn'ta had that sip of coffee before I read that one.
  5. Maybe get together, and go in on one of those fancy viaducts?
  6. Wowza. They really and truly look like a pathetic 7-16 team.
  7. Wow, I got out of class just in time to catch that sideshow. Cripe, I'm gonna go conjugate some verbs or something. And thanks, Alex, I feel great about sticking up for ya on these boards, now.
  8. Ahh, Saturday morning remedial grammar class, with rowdy middle schoolers. Or, watch Phil struggle through another start like a monkey humping a football... Which would you rather do? (for the late Herb Brooks, with reverence)
  9. Here's hoping the capybara can stay away from the chupacabra.
  10. OMG-- My eyes are watering, and my coffee has long since left my nose. What a heart-warming story there, Riv. Heart-warming because it didn't happen to me! Haw haw haw! North, you'll appreciate this- I scored my virgin try, and did my Zulu Warrior run between the posts- fortunately in Devil's Lake, North Dakota. There was no one around to see, 'cept teammates, and my girlfriend and her pals, who showed up late and unbeknownst-
  11. Am I alone in respect to not being one to miss Gibby that much if he's dealt?
  12. Yeh, exactly, because in typical Molly fashion, they bring a guy up and make him sit til he freakin' ossifies...
  13. Please, please, please, let "TBD" on the Sunday MLB schedule be shorthand for the tall fellow...
  14. Plouffe has been in the outfield before, 2010-12. He was no great shakes out there, but he wasn't a complete liability. He is not at all mobile, but has a good arm. They moved him out there because they realized he was not a SS. He worked really diligently to turn himself into a better 3B, and he does a good job there- not a great one. I'm sure this season, if he spends the entire year there, will be better than the last- he's improved every year since he's been there full time. As a veteran, though, a new position would surely be less impactful on his overall game. He had that terrific first half-season in 2012, when they were moving him all over hell on the diamond. A talent like Sano doesn't come around very often, and he needs to focus on his forte- swinging that bat. To force an elite talent like that into a brand-new position on the ML level is ludicrous. I've never agreed with the decision to move him out there, and I think the best of a tough situation is moving TP out there, and keeping the kid at his comfortable position, and letting him mash.
  15. Chances upon chances upon chances... and now I have this bad taste in my craw as I'm about to go mark speaking exams. Argh. I'm going to be a brutal judge today. They better have some serious noun/verb agreement, or there'll be hell to pay.
  16. Sano to the outfield. My arse.
  17. Even the funny way he runs, he would do it.
  18. Well, Park doesn't exactly know what to do yet with guys all over those bases like that. He was probably distracted trying to add up the possible RBI. And McAllister did a good job of pitching on him, dang it.
  19. Off to class for a while, came back to see that pathetic attempt at base-balling. W. T. F. How in the bloody h can you mess up a play like that so badly? How can you get to the major leagues and not be able to get a bloody bunt down, if you are a guy like Santana. There is just no excuse. My 50-something year old butt could get a dang bunt down.
  20. Yer blinding me with that kind of science. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMWGXt979yg
  21. Well, we need to get a 20-25 minute inning of our own going-
  22. I've been behind Gulfa for the last couple of years-- electric stuff, live arm, and got really jerked around on the Rochester shuttle. But, he's not taking hold of what amounts to his last opportunities as a Twin. Geez, that's about the fattest 0-2 pitch you can possibly throw. I think he hits the waiver wire shortly. If one, just one of those hyped-up college fireballers could step up.... anyone? Bueller?
  23. He still looks nervous sitting on the bench after being taken out. He had a ton and a half of emotion, and he'll learn to get that more under control. He'll also eventually start getting those borderline calls. I think the kid will be alright. More than alright.
