He's a starter, period. He's got the stuff to be a closer, but not the makeup, it seems. Start him, sink, swim, or eventually cut, but they need to quit <fiddling> around with guys like May and Meyer. All that BP stuff with those two is just ridiculous, and has been from the start. Heh... I said, "start." Haw haw haw.

Bwwaaahahahaaa! Oh, I can't even follow this game anymore- just now had time to check in on the live stream- that look on Trevor May's face- I've seen that look before. It was the same look Michael Spinks had, lying on his back after 91 seconds with Mike Tyson, back in '88.

Aggies, I'm calling you out- you seem to be a Wiz with the stat stuff-- so, here we go again, and I'm counting on you: I KNOW, I just KNOW there's gotta be a stat for runs given up after tying or taking a lead. Land O' Goshen, this club just can't seem to get a zero after that happens, again and again and again and again and........

Plouffe needs to get the hell out of the 4-hole. Especially with Men-Dozier "protecting" him. So yeh, he got a homer recently, and so did Dozey, and good on them, but for both, it's been non-stop suck most of the time, in crucial spots in the order.

I really thought they'd make that move a lot sooner. Like right after the LaRoche debacle. Glad for Justin to get another ML shot. Really, really sad that it's with.... that team which shall not be named.

I agree with your agreement-- ;-) I don't mind a bit of celebration- it's been such a sucky season as a fan; it's got to be tenfold as a player. So maybe they went over the top, I can forgive that. I can't forgive the rest of the stuff that Reusse brought up, though. I thought he was pretty much spot on, though (beating my own dead horse here), I also thought he held fire on Molly, and I think he deserves a heck of a lot of blame for this current mess. As far as the Vargas/Sano issue, there's blame to be shared equally there. I should think all they'd need to do is show them a photo of Kent Hrbek, and point out the career he could have had with just a little self-control. I keep returning to the adage that in the age of information, ignorance is a choice. There are plenty of examples of guys who woulda coulda shoulda, if they'd only taken care of themselves. Somehow, the point needs to be made to these guys in a way they understand, that a potential MLB career is fleeting, and with large cats like them, an extra measure of fortitude is required. I don't know if any of this conditioning stuff is a part of their respective contracts, but it needs to be incentivized in a major way. To me, the theme of Reusse's piece was accountability. That is the most glaring thing missing in the current "Twins Way."

It's just another of that ever-increasing string of decisions Molly makes that simply defy logic or explanation. I'm not going to get into more of 'em here, but my God, he's out of options, so either play him or cut him, but surely don't do whatever the heck the manager is doing these days. It's beyond ridiculous. I made this point in another thread, that Arcia is on the top step, and the first one in line to greet a HR hitter or run scorer, or pitcher being replaced. He looks like one hell of a teammate. The way he's handled prospects, and his head-scratching lineups and game decisions are so glaringly bad. Molly needs to go. Now.

Both. They are just pounding the heck out of him inside so he can't get extended, then burying sliders in the dirt to get swings. I can see him pulling his hands in some lately, and I think he'll come around a bit.
