  1. Please get Abreu here. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeze.... Please don't let Garcia come up as the winning run.....
  2. That's it, Brandon! Pound that ball zone! Oh, wait... it's supposed to be... never mind.
  3. True dat. Tough to fit on a poster, too.
  4. Gee, so we went down meekly in our half of the ninth? That's not, like, a recipe for anything, is it, man?
  5. Sheesh, Bux got eaten alive by the Dread Pirate Roberts-on.
  6. Whenever Dr. K comes into a ballgame, I get this kind of feeling.... Sidebar: I always wondered why, if you're a tightrope walking family, you'd go by the moniker "Flying" Wallendas. Like, flying is maybe something you don't want to do when you're walking several meters about the ground...?
  7. Downright comical if we p*ss away this one. Downright tragic if we p*ss away this one to the White Sox.
  8. Nothing like walking Tim "Mendoza" Anderson with a man on (via walk) in the 8th.
  9. Heh... looking at the Game Day-- Narvaez has one little red box in his K zone- and where does the pitch go? Heh...
  10. Well, Kintz is in now. Lights out, Chicago.
  11. I think he's trying to channel former Twin BP greats like Ray Corbin, or Dan Fife...
  12. Just, ya know... Not thinking of PH'ing Vargas here, and having Castro finish the game or anything Just, ya know... like he's already there on the bench and everything...
  13. Oh, Lord, 6 more outs to get? Geez, who do we throw out there for the 8th before bringing in "Rollie" Kintzler? <cue dream sequence music> *camera cuts to Molly, in the dugout, checking his mobile. Zoom in to see he's following the TD game thread.* *cut to close up--lineup card in hand, pencil poised-- hand begins to scrawl: "W-i-l-k..." *cut back to Molly close up-- wry smile and barely perceptible chuckle* Molly (sotto voce): That oughta make their little heads explode...
  14. Oh, dag. Off to class again. Now I'm wondering if a touchdown is gonna be enough.
  15. I forget. Do the Sox have a "vaunted" bullpen, or is like ours, a "daunted" one?
  16. Heh.... the longerer, the betterer. Kind of like their starter at nearly 50 pitches after 2. And I'm off to class just in time- not thinking about the bullpen experience of that last series at all. And not jinxing us with that comment either. (Geez, I hope, yah?)
  17. Can anybody tell me if Hawk is on the broadcast? They've shut me down from getting mlbtv at "work," but I would have loved to hear his silence on that Escobar dinger. You can put it on the board. Yes.
  18. Guy has mashed taters in his last 2 games, obviously seeing the ball a little bit- Guy needs to keep getting Mlb at bats to keep improving for the future "contending" teams we maybe maybe maybe will have--- but let's go ahead and sit him down in favor of a guy who doesn't hit lefties a'tall. welp, and just as I type that out---- bang. Order of crow to table 5 over here--
  19. Molly.... just.... I'm.... I don't know, just out of words. It has become so rare when he presents a lineup that doesn't invoke at least 1 or 2 WTF's. One of my favorite all time players, but this managing gig-- sheesh. Taking a broom to the dugout should have been job 1 for Falvine.
  20. Well, I'm trying to rationalize by thinking that maybe they're playing the service time game with Mr. B. But by God, if you're thinking about getting those young arms in the rotation for future pennant contention, that time is even earlier than today. Berrios has nothing to prove by mowing down AAA cats. If he has to take his lumps and learn how to adjust, how about doing it in a whole year like this one? Don't even try to pretend we have a chance in even this watered-down Central with the pedestrians we have on the current staff. I know the injuries have hit the AA studs hard the past couple of years, and delayed their Mlb debuts, but Geez Louise, get them the hell up here soon, and let them get to learning. Our young hitters are now taking those lumps and learning those lessons, and the pitchers are going to be a year or 2 behind even at this point. We are not going to the Series this year. Wilk and Haley and Pressly and Belisle and Breslow and Kintzler, et.al., are not going to carry us there. If we have to wait til the service time clock is done ticking, so be it. But I can't stand this placeholder crap, as a fan, for yet another year. Get those guys up here ASAP, the ones we could or should be counting on, and let them take their medicine and learn their lessons. And--- while I'm ranting-- clean out that dugout. Molly (IMHO) is not going to take this team to the promised land, either.
  21. That's just as well. Kergeulen International is no picnic to fly into, I hear. Best to go by outrigger.
  22. Alright! Excellent! We're on our way! What a coup! Now we can keep our delusions about contending this year with a bunch of placeholders on the pitching staff, and don't have to give any of those young arms a chance. Whew!
  23. Argh. I hate to like this, but I think it's true. Let's see the lineup tomorrow. I'll bet he has Suzuki in the 5-hole, too.
