    NFL draft coverage >>>>>> MLB draft coverage. Couldn't believe they stopped TV coverage after the 1st round.

    Looking back, their rotation was actually better statistically in 2014 than in 2015 when they won the WS. Their overall strategy of getting 5-6 innings from their starter and turning it over to the bullpen could work for 3 of the Twins starters... Frankly I only trust Erv and Berrios to go 7+ right now.

    We're halfway through June, and this team is still in 1st place above .500. I'm a man of my word, and believe this is a contending team. The pitching staff isn't going to be fixed magically this season. IMO they need to address one or the other - bullpen or rotation. As the Royals showed before, a good bullpen can overcome an average rotation. I hope they make some moves to shore up this horrid pitching situation.

    That's good to know. I guess it doesn't really matter if you're a 6th round pick or a 14th round pick as long as they get paid.

    Honest question. How many of these late round picks actually sign? I've been reading from others on here that there are still some talented people left. Now that we're at this point in the draft, wouldn't they forego signing a contract and try their luck again? Especially if they're HS players.

    That's most certainly the case they have more information than us, and national publicists. KLAW for example admits he and other national writers don't see medical reports that teams gather. We'll never know what the Twins big board looks like. Nor will we ever truly know what their true strategy was... What we will hear is "We couldn't believe so-and-so fell into our laps in the x round." "Everything worked out as we hoped it would." "We believe we have the best draft class out of anyone."

    This makes a ton of sense... The ladies and some men were swooning over Legends of the Fall Brad Pitt. And who could blame them?!

    Couldn't agree more. It was quite frustrating last night reading Radcliffe's quote right after the Lewis pick saying they're using the savings to "go big" at 35/37... And Jeremy Nygaard's source texting him "Boom. Just wait" after the Lewis pick too. It leads me to believe that another team drafted the player they wanted, and made adjustments on the fly to change their strategy again. So here we are, with $1+ MM to spend on less-touted players the rest of the draft.

    Did Pressly learn his lesson after 3 AAA appearances? I'm quite worried we're going to see the same results from him. Also, how Belisle and Breslow continue to be employed is beyond my comprehension.

    So with that strategy, is it wrong to assume that the FO doesn't feel there's enough depth in the organization? With some of us fans, we feel there is org depth in the minors, but no star power. So I'm not sure I like this strategy.

    McKay looked like he wanted to cry on TV talking about just being a hitter... Are we sure he just wanted to play in the field and not pitch?

    The hope is he's a fast riser who could get a cup of coffee in September next year.. Guess they found their DH since he won't have a lot of time to develop defensively.

    They did take 2 pitchers last night... But I get your point. It's different to pick at 26 and 30 compared to 2 though 9 overall.

    Yeah we can file this under the "Never going to happen" category. Especially when it's their first draft for the team. We'll hear the same cliches "the draft fell exactly how we wanted" -- "couldn't pass up a stud OF at 35" etc. etc.

    I agree... That's what happens when the other 26-27 teams didn't get the memo that the Twins have a plan.

    Who says there can't be 2-way players in baseball?! I consider Gimenez a part of the bullpen now with how much he's pitched this season.
