  1. Yeah, mind.boggling. Wait a minute, shouldn't you be teaching right now? Or at the very least, be thinking about teaching? Frankly Levi, I don't know how you expect to get above Mrs. Anderson on the depth chart. She reviews power point presentations every Sunday afternoon. And spends her weeknights sending personalized encouragement videos to all of her students. You? You play Zelda. For shame.....
  2. This is really unfortunate for May.... Guy hasn't been able to catch a break the last 2 years. Wishing him a quick and successful recovery. As we move on, let's win a job in the rotation Berrios or Mejia!
  3. If he plays MLB the Show and only chooses himself as the starting pitcher, isn't he doing DOUBLE the work that others are doing? His dedication is off the charts!
  4. And if the ump blows a call.... Well, Air Bud may retaliate and bite the ump! I love this plan. Also, in honor of National Mario Day, may I suggest adding Baby Mario and making him the closer of the future? He could learn under Matt Belisle until he finds a hidden mushroom that makes him grow 4 feet.
  5. Underwhelming list. I don't expect any of these players to be 40 man adds after this season.
  6. Season 5 of The Americans debuts tomorrow night at 9:00 PM CT.... If you need to catch up, Amazon Prime Video has seasons 1-4 available to stream.
  7. Not ready to write them off yet. There's been some that have tried writing them off for 5+ years, and they still find a way to be competitive. They'll finish 2nd in the division.
  8. Wow... And the average age on this team is creepin' on up.
  9. That's what I always thought. And because of that saying, a pitcher's velocity would be close to what it will be during the season.
  10. Haley's in the same age bracket as the other prospects... We're getting to that point where Burdi, Melotakis, Reed, Hildenberger are no longer spring chickens. Let's call them up and give them a chance.
  11. Cliches are cliches for a reason... The games count just as much in April as they do in September. So why give Hughes a spot in the rotation and see what happens when he is showing red flags right now?
  12. Or, Phil Hughes could fill the role of potentially expendable mop up guy and the Twins could get Berrios back in the picture.
  13. Man, if this guy plays plus defense at short, it's a serious toss-up what position he will play in the future.
  14. "Ed Smith Stadium’s radar gun showed that Hughes was sitting around 88-89 with his fastball/cutter combination. He touched 90 a couple of times. But Hughes wasn’t overly concerned over those figures." He should be. That's not going to work going forward.
  15. That would be a nightmare scenario IMO. Treading water with another 40 year old veteran while young guys don't get a chance.
  16. Yep, for sure. Doctors and surgeons need to be conservative when it comes to young people and their injuries.
  17. If JRM can't beat out Gimenez, then frankly I don't have faith he'll ever make an impact on this team. No need to have 2 veteran presences at the same position.
  18. That's fair. I didn't make it clear before when I said safe college arms. Your examples definitely qualify. Johnson's high velocity, converting relievers into starters hasn't worked out well either. If they're searching for a front-line starter, I hope this time they take someone who's currently starting.
  19. You can consider it non-typical college arms, but they are still college arms. If we move the sample size from 2012 to 2000, the trend of HS toolsy players or college arms is clear.
  20. The previous regime almost always went with the "safe" college arm, or HS OF with tools... Mostly it was a conservative approach. I want the new regime to gamble on the highest upside possible. And that certainly sounds like Greene.
  21. Love Always Sunny.... It's going to go down as one of the best comedies in TV history when it's all said and done. Every week has been a home run... April 19th can't come soon enough!!
  22. Concur. He's only had 76 PA's in AAA so far, and 434 total above A ball. He could use every day at-bats in AAA instead of finding at-bats when he can at the MLB level. If Castro is injured for a significant period of time, that looks like the only path for Garver to get consistent MLB at-bats this season.
